Madeleine Carroll may have been my favorite Hitchcock Blonde. He sure knew how to pick them: Grace Kelly, Kim Novak, Eva Marie Saint, Janet Leigh and Tippi Hedren.

I didn't know this but...

Hedy Lamarr sued Mel Brooks over the use of the name Hedley Lamarr and settled out of court. Mel said he was flattered by this attention and even made a reference to the lawsuit in the movie.

Hedy was something else: brilliant mind (she had several inventions), diffident, and difficult. She was the original inspiration for Catwoman created by Bob Kane. She unfortunately turned down the role of Ilsa in Casablanca that was specifically written for her; it was hard to find film roles for her as she had a very pronounced accent and was rather lazy and hard to work with but was and is still considered by many to be the most beautiful women in film history http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001443/ Doris Day said, "I think I would sell my soul if I could look like Hedy Lamarr". It's a shame she didn't get filmed in color until she was almost 40 (Samson and Delilah-she played Delilah) as her skin tone, dark hair and blue/green eyes were said to be absolutely spectacular.
