He didn't even take a shot!

ahh...the good ole days of the motion offense and no shot clock. a Bob Knightmare to defend. Those days are long gone.....

love X's progress this year but he does get occasional tunnel vision at the point and misses Kopp (and sometimes Stew) setting for an open 3. Seems determined to put his head down and take it to the rim.

Accurate statement!

TJD does it too. Misses kick out options all the time.

Who are the shooters the Hoosiers are suppose to have?
Stewart and Kopp are both very good shooters. Neither can create off the dribble however and we don't run enough sets in the half court to free them up. That's a problem. Wish our team got out a little bit more in transition as Johnson is more than capable of pushing tempo. Would lead to more opportunities for guys like Kopp and Stewart.

Of the transfers I'm most disappointed and discouraged with Kopp. Even in the little we've seen of Leal he appears to me to be a player that isn't afraid to mix it up a little. At least more than Miller. Kopp doesn't even commit many fouls. Leal needs minutes to develop. During those OTJT minutes I believe he'll produce more on both ends of the court. Really not losing much with Kopp riding the pine and if in the event I'm wrong about Leal developing by playing more I'd expect sitting would motivate MK.
Show me one game Lander or Leal had .That Koop had against Syracuse...
Koop isn't a game changer.
But he can show he belongs.
Which is more than Lander..Leal ..or Duncomb ..
You either can ball or not.
At UK..Duke ..Kansas..Gongza.
They dont wait..They recruit your spot the next season.
That's why they're on top.

In the starting lineup Kopp is our fifth option. TJD, Race, Johnson, and Stewart are all above him. He will almost never be the primary option so his shots will be way below the rest.

If Leal (who is clearly already behind Galloway and Bates) were to come in he would be in a similar situation as a worse defender imo.

You could make the argument for Galloway to replace him if you wanted but more than likely in the first 7-9 minutes of each half he would just give the opponents someone else they can double Race/TJD off of.

Spacing with the starting 5 becomes an issue if it’s anyone except Kopp and Stewart in there.
I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Galloway has not been playing very good ball for several games now. Poor ball handling, poor passing, out of control drives at times on offense, and of course, can’t shoot a lick. It all just points up to the fact that our roster is still just very so so. Yes, Kopp (and Parker) are really limited impact players. The young guys need to get more time, but don’t expect a whole lot in return. Just saying the obvious again, I know, but this rebuild is going to take time.

The one glaring problem with that of course is that we are not UK, Duke, Kansas or Gonzaga, nor do we have their recruits. Certainly guys can progress and improve over their career and with the players we have, they need to. Maybe CMW can eventually build a foundation that would get us closer to those programs. Right now, teams like Nova and UVA from the recent past are better ones to model. Although Nova had a nice combo of developing 4 year guys but then augmenting with a high 4 or 5 star kid too.

At this point it’s who makes the least mistakes. Kopp and Stewart are those guys.
