Game Thread: Indiana vs. Louisville (Louisville Regional, Elimination Game)

Indiana batting order:

1. RF Drew Ashley
2. DH Matt Lloyd
3. LF Elijah Dunham
4. 3b Cole Barr
5. 1b Scotty Bradley
6. SS Jeremy Houston
7. CF Grant Richardson
8. C Ryan Fineman
9. 2b Cade Bunnell

Horrible matchup. UofL crushes RHs but cannot hit LHs. We really don’t have any. Saalfrank today would’ve been awesome.

Houston strikes out swinging, Richardson flies out to center, Fineman flies out to right.

Miller consistently hitting the mid-90s on his fastball.

Still scoreless heading into B2.

Pick the freaking ball and throw em out. Simple game. Should’ve been 2 outs no runners before the double.

Story of our season right there. Zero ability to situationally hit. Poor approach that reflects equally bad on the players and staff. Sickening.

Miller strikes out the next two Hoosiers, then gets Bradley to fly out.

Still 4-0 Louisville heading into B3.

We get the bases loaded with no outs and then the Ks start coming. This is getting ridiculous. This is twice in this game that we have failed to come through in the clutch when we had scoring opportunities. Our starting pitching has been a no-show in the two postseason tournaments so far, and there is no tomorrow unless we can start getting something going.

2-run home run for the Cards extends their lead to six.

Louisville 6, Indiana 0 with one out in B3.
It was bad enough being down 4-0, but this probably put a fork in it. Gordon has been charged with 5 earned runs in just 2.1 innings so far.

Signs of life for IU in T5. Lloyd with a one-out double to center.
A defibrillator brought back a faint pulse, but they have a priest close by to give the last rites. It's been a long time since I've been this down on our team's effort in a postseason.
