It's not respect to think the other side can only win if they are good at cheating. This is a dumb thread based on an even dumber article rooted in a far dumber view of American politics.
Like propping up candidate from the other parties in primaries?

He’ll end up in prison; the alleged fraud and embezzlement, when proven true will take care of that.
Breaches of fiduciary duties can’t go unpunished.

I think we will have to see how this plays out..... do crypto exchanges operate under the same fiduciary requirements as a normal, regulated broker/ dealer?

I found it funny he was going this week around trying to get new capital to make clients whole. Who does he think is going to sign up for that?

Everything I've read about this guy and this firm....I don't think there was any intention of fraud, but more just blatant recklessness. Nobody went to jail from Bear Stearns or Lehman.... how is this much different?

The only difference is this was crypto, so investors should have already expected to lose it all. Might as well burn your cash.

Basically, yes. None of these exchanges are what I would call trustworthy. I guess you can buy crypto and cold store it, but really trading is all anyone seens to much care about.

What a joke.

I'll make it simple IQ..

Biden/Obama ship $Billions of taxpayer funds to Zsky.

Zsky peels off a fat slice and buys FTX Tokens, 'FTT',

FTX, through it's sister company loots the customer accounts including the US Taxpayer funds.

FTX, in the person of Samuel Bankman-Freid,
Is the second largest contributor, following Soros to Democrats..

Easy Peasy..

Your pocket to Democrat pols;

Democrat pols pay Zsky;(UKR)

Zsky 'invests' in FTX.

FTX (sbf) pays Democrats..

EVEN A CAVEMAN.!

SBF is a dead man walking right now.

A crap ton of Bitcoin moved off of exchanges. Not to mention, the amount that hasn’t moved for 10 years, 5 years and 1 year are at all time highs. It’s getting to the point that only f#ckers like me who would sell one of their children first have it.

How much of that is just lost into the ether?

I saw that FTX helped set up a website to receive crypto donations for the Ukrainian war effort, which were then converted to cash and sent to the Ukrainian national bank.

Is there any evidence of the Ukrainian government investing in FTX? That would be needed to support your money laundering theory.

If SBF shows up dead though I could be convinced.

Damn, it’s not okay to question this stuff. Shooter gonna be all over you.
What question?

All good ....

Looking for consistency.

Tens of thousands of excess deaths all over the world.

Myocarditis in children and young adults at rates never seen before this.

What could go wrong?

Get'm jabbed, today if possible.

Safe and effective, and free!

This whole thing is a really interesting look into how the left has replaced traditional morality with wokeism.

SBF said all the right things as it relates to DEI, ESG, Covid and donated to all the right causes. A passing glance would have told people that something was off about SBF and the larger company but SBF was able to effectively cloak himself in vapid leftist nonsense.

It's a very interesting case study in how wokeism can effectively be used as a shield to cover up underlying malpractice.

Let this be a lesson for the idiots that cast off wokeism as "Culture wars" of little import. Nay, in this case, SBF went woke (at least observably) and people went broke.

I think it has much more to do with the VC world becoming enamored with this character types. Elizabeth Holmes. The Wework guy. Allegedly very smart people put a ton of money in these sham companies.

I heard a story that Bankman-Fried “wowed” Susquehanna on an investor call by talking to them while playing a video game. I recall a similar story about the Uber founder impressing VC bigwigs because he could stay in a hot tub for a long time. For the life of me, I cannot think of how any of this would make me more likely to throw in 100s on millions of dollars. It’s all so screwed up.

That plays a part as well, VC money is always looking for the next eccentric. The next Elon or Jobs. Some of them are just con artists. No mayer to the VC’s if they connect on 30% they are still coming out ahead.

But there is a reason SBF engaged in the wokewashing he did. Because it’s effective and it sways legislators. He was essentially trying to write the rules to his own oversight by wooing Democratic politicians.

Similar to teachers unions dictating re-opening requirements to Rachelle Walensky.

All this to say the “deep state” is definitely real.

If you think this is the first instance of a business donating money to lobby for favorable laws, I have a bridge to sell you. Look at car dealerships. Each and every state has protectionist laws for those businesses. Look at ALEC. It’s basically businesses writing laws for right leaning state legislators to pass.

So did SBF throw the left some vibes? Of course he did and that did probably helped his business cause. But it’s an old story and also a future one.
