For those who saw the game, how did Hunter look?

Never turn out?? I disagree. Calbert Cheaney came in unheralded in a loaded IU recruiting class, and was the best Freshman over Funderburke, the Grahams, who were McDonalds All-Americans. Oladipo came in as a raw Freshman and developed into a NBA 2nd pick. OG came in unheralded, and is now in the NBA. Franklin appears to be ahead of schedule as a Freshman. TJD is as advertised an immediate starter and contributer. Vonleh, Cody, Yogi, Watford, Hulls, Gordon, Damon Bailey, Jay Edwards, Alford, Isiah, Tolbert, Turner, Woodson, Kitchel, Wittman, May, Buckner, Bobby Wilkerson they all kind of worked out at IU.
None of those were heralded by the apologists as being the immediate fix. Guys like Clifton Moore and Deron Davis were.

If your assertion was true be very easy to cite a couple examples - but you can't/won't because they don't exist.

I’m not scrolling through posts back to last year. All reasonable people remember.

If I am correct and I am sure someone will correct me is I am wrong! Scoring differential while that player is on the floor. So, Sam is on the floor 12 minutes and during that time his team was outscored by 6. His +/- is -6.

Seems like a useless stat because it doesn't take into account who else is on the floor.
Thanks for explaining. Does seem a dubious stat at best.

Huh? Calbert Cheaney wasn’t “heralded” by Archie Miller “apologists”???

And who said Moore and Davis were quick fixes?

More of the same: zzzzzzzzzzz

Isnt that the definition of a “role player”. Until he works out the kinks he is coming off the bench. Once he does more in PRACTICE, and games. He could be elevated to starting. Until then, a nice role player.

I’m just happy the young man is healthy enough to play this season. Nothing but positive, right?
No when you refer to someone as a role player it means they have limited ability and not that they are coming off a missed season. Zach McRoberts was a role player.

Every player is a role player

Yeah because everyone has a role to play. Some are stars and some are true role players and by his comment it made it sound as if Hunter can’t or won’t be a star at Indiana.
You misunderstood me. He looks (present tense) like a role player. That has nothing to do with the future.

If I said "he looks like his ceiling at IU is as a role player" you'd have a point.

He’s a Purdue fan. Ignore him!

Yea, consider that Sam played against a team comprised completely of potted ferns. And Dick who had a lower plus minus played against a team of MJ clones.

It's a garbage stat ..

That quicker lineup was impressive. It is repeatable by simply not having Brunk or Davis in the game. We can use those bigger players, but the change of pace and quickness difference are noticeable and may cause teams to go to quicker lineups that will often be smaller.

What I really liked was something I have mentioned several times of how Jeffries and Newton worked together on defense. One would defend and the other would over and get the block. We saw that on the front line and we also saw it with our guards. Several of our fast break points came after one defender occupied the person with the ball while another took the ball away. Very impressed how we attacked the ball. We may not be able to be that aggressive with all teams, but I love the effort.

The lineup with Race, Smith, Hunter and any two guards has been our best lineup the last two games.

Curious to hear how Hunter looked? Have a feeling IU will need his scoring once B10 play starts. Thanks
He was solid. Big production in a few minutes. Looked comfortable on his three-point shots. Good defense. Has a nose for the ball and good Bball IQ. If he stays healthy, will be a major contributor for us.
