Fire Woodson…

We wouldn't have had 10 wins this year with Archie. 3 main problems with this team:

1. It's a bunch of disjointed pieces. It's never felt like this team has ever fully gelled.
2. Old habits die hard. This bunch (of whats left from the old regime) just doesn't fully know how to finish out games. The Minnesota game was HUGE evidence of that.
3. No floor general. Haven't had one since Yogi.
bullshit

IU is 4-6 in close games. Wisconsin won 15 close games this year. They were THAT close to being mediocre. Btw, Wisconsin loses their second game in the NCAA tourney.
Just stop it.
Wisconsin has 100x the mental fortitude of IU and its staff. The reason they WON all those close games is because of what they have between the ears. We have a collection of mental midgets, coaches included.

First of all, he hasn’t missed the tourney once (yet), let alone three more years. That’s a large assumption. But yeah, even if we did miss this year and the next two I think he’d be back. When has IU ever fired a coach that quickly? It won’t start with someone like Woodson.
I would expect or hope he is canned after 3 years if we have missed the Dance all 3 years. Unfortunately that could be a strong possibility.

Meh.. sometimes it’s luck, too. How do explain their ineptitude in the NCAA tourney? They went far with Kamimski, but that’s it. A lot of good Wisconsin teams have shit the bed in the tourney.

Yes, unless the NBA comes calling. I could see a ton of teams trying to lure him back after this stellar season.
You're an idiot. All of your historical posts show you're a PU fan. I swear, you guys are as clueless as they come.

Are you serious? You talking crap about Bo Ryan’s success at Wisconsin?

Yea we would not be close to even making the tourney with Archie. It woulda been over awhile ago.
That's what I like about the situation we have, if there's any silver lining. We have three strikes before we need to look elsewhere. This is a talent problem as I have said all year, and Archie poisoned all of the little we have, and I think things will improve rapidly once his recruits are gone or relegated to the bench forever. It was time to give the keys to Lander and Bates early on, but instead we go with flawed transfers, etc. all year and no real attempt at development of the talent we have. I think it was just a bad strategy from the get go. The talent is never going to show until they've been thrown to the fire and it seems the strategy for this year was get by with incompetent patches and never let what we do have get any experience for the sake of maybe getting back to the tourney, which we undoubtedly are short of winning the BTT

Purdue has had 2 coaches in the last 40 years. Duke has had the same coach. Kansas has had 3 coaches. Michigan St. has had 2. IU has had 6, with 5 in the past 20 years. And you want another coach? You trying to set a record for the number of coaches at one program?

enough to go 24-6 and be in contention for a top 2 seed. How much are you paying your 4 head coaches to miss the tournament?
$10 million lifetime contract and hasn’t done anything since 2014-15. Imagine paying $10 million for a coach to go 9-16

Maybe we should just stop hiring shitty coaches. Keeping Woodson because we have had a lot of turnover recently is not a valid reason. He’s in over his head.

You must be a very lonely butthurt person. Not enough to lurk, but you have to show us how butthurt you still are. Sorry man.
Guessng butthurt kind of comes with living down there (in more ways than one).

With 10 seconds left? Hell, yes. IU should've fouled on Rutgers' inbounds pass (or just wait until Harper or Baker hit a three-pointer with two seconds left). Duh.

So you basically wanted Ron Harper to get into a free throw contest at the end of the game with IU? I thought our fanbase was supposed to be smart?

That’s ridiculous, unless you think he’ll quit on his own. There is no chance IU would fire a coach after two seasons barring some sort of scandal. He’ll get 4 years minimum.

Maybe he turns it around. I’m not really optimistic about it, but I’ll give him another couple of years before I give up. I still sense that there is something systemically wrong with IU athletics, and the the Next Guy would fare no better here.
Thats the sad thing is even if you know in a few years you are stuck with them just like with archie. This was dolsons little grand IU guy experiment and I am pretty sure he will hang onto it as long as he can. But i would not be shocked to see fife and other asdistants leave sooner rather than later.

Woodson was an experiment at best. He wasn’t qualified for the position he was given. They are more likely to pull the plug in this experiment more quickly than a coach with actual college basketball coaching experience.

Not that our athletic department is competent enough to hire a good coach after him.
I disagree he was dolsons experiment which still made no sense He isnt going to admit defeat after two years. Dolson went all in on getting an IU guy was the cure to all our misery. This is dolsons boy.

He’s definitely in over his head. That’s easy to see. He assembled a team full of players from losing programs. In other words, this team is full of a bunch of losers. Coaching staff included.
Hate to break it to you but Woody inherited a losing program.

Dolson needs to be let go as well. No idea why we hired Glass’ right hand man when there were better options under consideration. Glass was a disaster, so I’m not sure why you would hire a guy who learned everything he knows from him
