Federal election interference case to restart?

Looks like it. Hearing scheduled this month.

The Supreme Court already canned the Sarbanes Oxley charge, and the KKK charge rests on even thinner ice. What a waste of time and money. The DC cases should be dropped. This is what you get when a hack like Jack Smith is in charge.

If garland had half a brain, he’d fire smith, appoint a legit special prosecutor for the documents case, forget that appeal, and get on with trying the case.

It's nowhere close. She has to figure the immunity issue, and however she rules, we then get another appeal.
Commentary I'm seeing says she could have Smith provide all the evidence they plan to present and she would then rule on what's in and what's out. Those hearings would at least get the case out in the open before the election.

I’d like to read that commentary. I think the immunity issue is different from evidence to support the indictment.

Even if you are correct, what is to be gained by arguing the appeal instead of just eliminating the argument altogether with another appointment? Smith isn’t worth the trouble.

Interesting information I was unaware of is that Trump voted in the 2020 election by mail. He didn't practice what he preached and that's no surprise.

More information (he's most likely guilty as sin):

I know many won't bother to read it, but the scheme is laid out very well:

If you paid attention to the J6 Committee's work and findings, there really isn't much new here other than a few tidbits. The bastard did everything he could think of to overturn the election. He is a traitor and Mar-A-Lago should be turned into his version of Saint Helena.

“So what does the rule tell us? ‘Federal prosecutors…may never select the timing of any action, including investigative steps, criminal charges, or statements, for the purpose of affecting any election.’”

Judge Chutkan released the filing, not Jack Smith. Smith didn't ask it to be made public and he submitted it under seal to the Judge. It's a stupid rule, by the way, and it's not a law and not binding. It doesn't apply to the Judge, and it's not possible to know her purpose for releasing it without her saying what her purpose was. She's made it clear all along that she's not bound by Justice Department guidelines and the case was previously indicted and litigating the case is an obligation of the Smith team and the Trump team is also obligated.
