Very enjoyable race with the conditions changing 4x or so.
I’m glad Lando didn’t have it at the end. Same with George — he is always good for a mistake or two and is another one I don’t like much.
Ferrari and Checo… awful weekends. Checo’s deal is 1+1…

Yea, and YOLO’ing Charles out on slicks when the second wave of rain was starting was a silly risk, there was no dry line.

It was so bad that I wasn't even mad. The whole thing with leclerc's engine...might as well happen there since they weren't anywhere near competing anyway. I'll take once complete disaster weekend over stretching out the ****ups over several weeks.
I was sweating that out until the end. I was sure the #50 was going to run out of fuel.
We’ve got three straight weekends of races coming up, which is nice, and all at purpose built permanent tracks.

IndyCar ramped up the drama this year.
It sounds like Theo will have options to stay in the series, which is cool, I would like to see how well the F2 champ can do once he gets acclimated. He also seems like a nice kid despite being French. I don't know much about Siegel except that his dad is rich and he crashed on that desperate run to make the 500. He has got guts. Pressure is on now.

Another so so F1 driver to IndyCar. Bleh. I’m much more interested in where Theo ends up.
On the bright side for the series, the hybrid era starts in two weeks at Mid Ohio, so that will be a new wrinkle that is hopefully interesting. And the new TV deal was good — double the $, races all on network, and all NXT races on FS1. Have to enjoy the occasional positives with beleaguered IndyCar.

Fox tends to have the best live sports production in the US, it should be interesting to see how they do with Indycar. Part of F1s popularity is due to Sky’s production imo, which is as slick as there is in all of sports.
That would be cool — I want to see how LL does. Sounds like some other teams are inquiring about him, perhaps RB has to pull the trigger and get him in or let him go.
As bad as Checo has been since he signed his new deal, maybe RB should see if LL has what it takes for his seat…

Starting to wonder if the RBR car isn’t so great and it’s just that Max is so much better than everyone else. Would be fun to see what VER could do in one of the other top 4 cars.
I think the McLaren is now even or slightly better (easier to drive) than the knife edge RB. Imo Max is one of the all-time greats who under race conditions is one tenth or so per lap quicker than everyone else, plus he is great with passing and managing race issues.
Seeing drivers try other cars would be incredible. Or have an event where they all get in F2 cars and we just see how that shakes out. That would be awesome.

Eh. This just seems like Marko trying to advance a narrative. Horner likes Ricciardo and Horner will probably win this one. I'd like to see Lawson replace Ricciardo (who I think is just taking up space) but I doubt it.
Kinda cool that in 2024 with advanced wind tunnels and computer modeling, aero still brings uncertainties until the car is out in qualifying and race conditions. I’d guess this is due to the huge number of complex interacting variables that only come with a race weekend.
Lawrence may be doubling his offer to Adrian…
The leap the fruity French team has taken the past few weekends has been pretty incredible considering their car at the start of the season
Pretty good. And they’re supposedly ~30hp down on the field.
Kinda funny how much Renault puts into the Alpine brand with F1 and WEC, yet Alpine only sells one niche sports car. They’re about to launch one more model and have more planned, but the level of marketing for so few cars sold is pretty wild.
Crazy how a slow stop from Red Bull of all teams started that chain of events
HAAS at P6 and P8 is an improvement (two entries in the points) for them, and keeps them ahead of the basement dwellers.

I could see Perez getting sacked but I don’t believe the Danny Ric rumors for a second
It’s a shame. He’s the 2nd or 3rd best driver imo and he is stuck with a bad car. Instead I’ve got to watch so-so Lando up front. Bleh.
