He'll come back to Twitter but it won't be right away. Probably sometime after the midterms maybe early next year. The lefties are already freaking out as it is and Elon has enough on his plate.
Recently I made a twitter post about a bike ride and the unfortunate fact that I had a flat tire after running over a metal screw.
Well, the word "screw" set off bells and whistles, apparently. I had to modify the post. So I instead ran over a "metal shard".
He can't. But probably a third or more of actual Twitter users (not the bots) would quit if they had to disclose their identities.
Utilizing "celebrities" and "athletes" and influencers is a big part of advertising on instagram. Followers are bought from services and it would be nice to know how many are "real" people etc in deciding whether it's worth having them promote your products. So if an mls player with 100,000 followers wants to promote your products in a story for $1,500 it'd be nice to know how many of those are actually followers.
And I'm not saying they should be disclosed, for myriad reasons, only it would be nice from a business standpoint
