Dustin Dopirak on potential IUBB coaching candidate pool shrinking

43 year old senior student at Texas? He said he was 23. He also said he was passing on what someone else told him.

Again, they are looking for suckers with this clickbait. Texas doesn’t give him a warning if he beats the hell out her in front of the entire team. There would also be video of this.
I must have misheard age. Well I didn’t imagine he saw it himself. But he said the student mangers told him. And you didn’t address the host’s remarks . Do I 100% believe this? No. But it’s just another of the several stories out there.

Riiiiight, this thread….add disingenuous to your attributes.
What do other threads have to do with this one? Mind you, the other threads where I mention Purdue… are threads about Purdue. lol but now you are taking this thread OT to talk about other threads. lol

Like I said, a troll that comes here to argue with IU fans about his team. The other discussion you’re involved in is just incidental, to pass the time until the next time you get to argue for your team & against ours.

But just walk through the logic of this. He didn't see it but said a college buddy told him a story. "the whole team saw him beat the hell out of her". She would have been a bruised and bloody mess for weeks if that sentence alone was true. Why would all of these bystanders not intervene? Why would zero kids video this? Why would Texas give him an undocumented warning for committing a crime in front of the entire team.

I feel like half the other site message boards are also buying this guy's x spaces stuff. SO MUCH misinformation is out on the Beard stuff and then we get the echo chambers on all the message boards.

Coaching wise, I think Pitino was right and Beard is head and shoulders better than these other candidates. He is the perfect fit for IU if he and the admin can get past all of this.

Ok...live in the fairy tale

Stevens and Drew were a stretch. I think for the next 3 weeks all other names are on the table. No one knows anything, no one has a source. A 10+ mil buyout is probably a non-qualifier. I hope our AD doesn't over complicate this one. I would like to be excited when I hear the name, but interested might be all I can muster up

Your one of the few that support him. I never would hire a guy with one year experience to take over my company. You do realize they were 28-7 under the former coach he built the program to a 150-55 .732 over his 6 seasons
Where did you get 1 year experience from?
The guy has literally coached in a college environment for 15 years. Yes, he was the head coach at a university that has been in existence since 1905 with a 4-year academic program and over 9,000 students prior to Drake. This wasn’t exactly a youth church league he was coaching. The school gives athletic scholarships and has NIL.

At the end of the day, coaching is coaching.
Oh, but he hasn’t done it at the big P4 level?

Big f@&$ing deal. He recruited against and played against teams that had the same level of talent and he won 4 D2 National Championships against them. That’s coaching.

And people think he would suddenly lose his ability to coach and build a culture in the Big Ten? This guy would run circles around Bigfoot and with this same roster would have them light years ahead of what we’ve seen the past 4 just limping by with a guy half asleep at the wheel.

Once you remove the active coaches with baggage along with the wildly unrealistic, you have a list. That's what they're all doing.

Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana Nattys would be a helluva hat trick.

I know a sharply-dressed, 2X champion who has a $0 buyout.

He's won 11 straight conference championships and 13 in 16 years. That is staggering. He's incredibly intelligent, and can coach any style. He could've jumped to D1 5 years ago but he waited until something he was comfortable with before he did. He knew he was going to crush it at Drake. I don't thank you can just throw money at him and he'll jump.

Yeah I think that’s a real possibility. He might just feel that it would not be honorable to leave after one year. But who knows in this era if college ball. All the old traditions have been blown up.

I’m impressed with McCollum’s record, but how far is too far re levels of coaching to compare?

Would everyone impressed with McCollum’s impressive D2 record feel the same if it was at D3? High school? Would McCollum’s record make him an obvious NBA hire? These aren’t rhetorical—I’m genuinely wondering.

Kehres at Mt Union won 11 National Titles in football. Always wondered why an IU never took a chance on him. But I’m not sure the talent evaluation and recruiting ability translate between different levels of athletes.

Now, now.
The vagina hat brigade will be coming after you for sharing that. Women never attack men. Women don’t get drunk or physically violent. This is a myth.

Division 2 means nothing to me.

(JW) ?

Maybe he just needed 2 years off to recharge?

Wouldn't you sh7t if Scott Dolson offered him 60x6 a month ago and he took it. The rumors about having his guy and it's a done deal are all true, it just wasnt Brad, it was better? He literally checks all of the boxes for everyone on this board.

God I hope this is the case. Not confident, but not giving up hope.

The home run hires for me would be Wright, Beard, or Stevens

I can't figure out how to send you a message. So this might not make it.

If this would turn out to be the case, I would j€rk Scott Dolson of_f in front of Pam Whitten and let any member of the Bomba family give me a physical, and already know my prostate is enlarged.

He is not elite that's why Indiana will pass on him.
I could say the same about Beard. I'm sure folks will whine and cry about the DV thing, but, and this may shock people ... maybe he's not the best coaching choice for IU. Solid coach, sure, but nothing overly special beyond a run to the title game.

Have you lost your mind? Beard almost won a title at Texas Tech! He has taken three different teams to the tournament...

I think they more than doubled the NIL to ensure we had given Woody every chance he needed, but also to ensure we would be hard to turn down if Woody didn't meet expectations. It would be hard to believe Scott didn't have his ducks in a row then. I would say after the Bahamas things went to another level and by the time the fans started chanting "Fire Woodson", it was full speed ahead. He made the statement about how he would be dispersing revenue sharing funds, to make the job even more appealing, and probably had who he wanted in mind since last year at this time. The search firm is to ensure he's done everything the right way and avoid what happened when we ended up with Woody. I think Dolson is doing a masterful job right now. I wouldn't take anyone off the table just yet. There are some that would be bigger surprises if they left their current jobs, but if we're capable of offering Brad 10m a year, no one's off the table.
If we can pay someone 10 million a year and all we get is mccollum I'd be pretty disappointed
