After the announcement of Mike Woodson's impending "retirement" and now Indiana has lost 7 of their last 8 games, Don gives an honest assessment that the program appears to be in "chaos." Even though coach and players are all being paid handsomely have they "checked out?"

Interesting that he questioned whether Woody would continue doing the pregame and postgame interviews, and then Woody did not do postgame Purdue or pregame MSU with Fisher. Did he do postgame MSU? Was he pissed at Fisher for doing the interview?

Fisch said after the MSU game that Woodson will no longer be doing the coach’s radio show, so it’ll be assistants on Monday nights for the rest of the season (alternating with Moren).

Isn't doing these scheduled radio shows part of his contractual obligations. If so he is not fulfilling his contract responsibilities and big financial penalties are called for. What a weakling.
Big financial penalties? You suppose IU is losing a bunch of money because their lame duck coach isn't doing the radio show?

What exactly do you think you're missing not hearing Woodson on the radio after games?

Do you miss hearing "I gotta find a way to get them over the hump" when we lose?

Do you miss hearing "It was a total team effort" when we win?

I'd rather hear more real analysis of the game from almost anyone else.

It depends upon what The Contract says. But I'm with You. It isn't about whether You want to hear Him on radio or not. It's about the fact that He has failed to fulfill an obligation of his contract, and shouldn't be paid for not showing up.

We don't even know if that's still an obligation. It's entirely possible IU decided there was no need to have him do it.

I mean, if I'm Dolson, and we know Woodson is not coming back, why would I even care? I have no need to force a lame-duck coach to go sit and do the radio show twice a month. If anything, I want Woodson facing the public as little as possible. No need to risk Woodson, with nothing to lose, popping off and spilling tea all over the airwaves. To be honest, I'd probably tell him NOT to do the show anymore. It's all PR risk, no reward.

Letting the assistants do it makes sense. They are all young and are auditioning for their next job.

I know some of us are all in our feelings about how much Woodson made while he coached, but there is no need to cut off IU's nose to spite Mike Woodson's face. He's leaving. Y'all got what you wanted. Take the frikken win.

If They agreed to a modification to the contract that as a lame duck Coach They agreed He should no longer do the show, but They will pay Him any way, fine that's what the parties agreed to.
