Do MAGA signs decrease home value?

To the original post I wouldn’t let it bother me if I saw signs supporting either side. As we learn from this board miserable fcks aren’t unique to either side. Hell I suspect zeke and i are as far polar as it gets and id take her for a neighbor in a heartbeat. We’d have daquiris and watch parties
And listen to TSwift. The voice of our generation.

If you were looking to buy a house and a few of the neighbors had MAGA signs/flags/truck flags (not a cult), do you think that would impact the majority of buyers? Would you ask your MAGA neighbors to calm down on the signs/flags for a few weeks?

What you think? Would you tell them to 86 their 47 cult stuff?
Most of the guys on those board would run the other way if they saw a maga sign near a house they wanted to buy. Liberals like being surrounded by other liberals. But if a yard sign really triggers somebody they have deeper issues imo.

There's no question that an abundance of rabid Trump MAGA cultists in a neighborhood makes you wonder if there's some white supremacists among them.

Realtors will take prospective buyers to a house by a route that goes by as few MAGA nuts as possible.
Omg you cannot be serious dude. Lol.

Anyone that still has a political sign up is a total loser who deserves constant steam dog shit to be left in their yard.

Taylor swift just shows how terrible Americans have become. She's talentless and sucks.

Ill give her credit, she's great at selling things which show how worthless a business degree is. She became a billionaire with a hs diploma.
No Trump shows us how terrible America has become. He couldn’t EARN a business degree if his life depended on it. Let’s be honest, he couldn’t pass a fifth grade standardized test.

Yeah, no reason to spend money here.

BTW. I don't like Mike Braun. My wife, massage therapist in Jasper, had his brother as a client. He don't like Mike. I'm pretty pissed about the helipad. You want to be governer. Live in the mansion, go to ****ing work like the rest of us. I worked for his company for 7 months. Jasper people are just weird.

Super pissed about this mid states corridor. Its going to have serious problems when it gets to Martin County. Nobody here wants it. There is no path through Martin County. We have Crane NSWB, hills, and Padanoram, and weed farms, meth labs. Only way is between Loogootee and Cannelburg and you have the Amish. But Amish around here aren't all the same. I grew up amongst them as an English. For every gun I have which is 🤔 multiply by 10

I'm sitting here at my grandpa's farm in Daviess county looking at how much it changed for the worse. I live in Loogootee right now. This mid state corridor is bullshit, they gave up on the 231 expansion 20 years ago.

All I hear is traffic noise and see light pollution. Its bullshit. The woods I used hunt, I can see a gas station from my grandpa's farm. Which won't last long.

Could you? Im guessing you're a special ED teacher or teacher somewhere in the K-6th grade range.

Business degrees are easy for the most part.

It could be concerning, but so could a Harris sign. I would not want to live next door to anyone fanatical. Democrats, Republicans, Steelers fans, all would make me want to talk to them before buying. Anyone who might take a simple difference of opinion to all out war.
What about a Purdue fan? 🤣

I see a lot of differences. Among them, most notably, the BLM signs are not candidate-specific, unlike basically all the MAGA stuff.

Whether one agrees or disagrees, the BLM stuff (if that's a fair characterization of what you're talking about) is an issues-based campaign at a time of impactful issues-polarization. And while you may be seeing what you consider to be too much in-your-face content in that regard, I don't think you can compare it to the depth and scope of the MAGA stuff. That would be a second differentiator for me. Again, even if you're seeing impacts you object to; but I'd separate the impacts from the signage and signaling we're talking about.
Do you really think BLM means anything to Black people? If it did they would stop killing each other don’t you think.

Had a close friend who grew up in Loogoote. Worked as VP Construction for Simon Group. Built malls in LA., Vegas and the St.L Arch...good man.

People seem upset about mid-states, when we drive through the area there are signs everywhere.

But I am sure it has the same impact as the anti-69 protests in Bloomington had. Labelled as cranks trying to stop progress.

I don't think it would decrease by much unless it was way over the top, using foul language or most every neighbor had signs. And even then, (other than foul language), you would only be scaring off half the potential buyers

There is usually no expecting that you will like or agree with every neighbor.

YOU , drive through. That's the problem.
The issue is, they had a 231 expansion project they gave up on. I worked for Mike Braun, fork him

It doesn't matter to you, but when your house or farm are about to be destroyed...

I've seen it. So Fu yoy

I lean right and

I don't think I said it doesn't matter to me. I was comparing it to 69. I know one who lost their house and a couple families that lost land. None wanted it. But outside of Bloomington they were ridiculed for opposing progress.

I actually wish you luck in stopping it. Paving everywhere isn't good.

We still have a few Harris 2024 signs in my neighborhood. Some doofus even has a giant "Bring Him Home!" sign with Garcia's photo on it, right on a corner lot.

Same objections were made about the I-69 extension. Are the tree huggers involved too?
I69 is great. I can easily drive to Evansville 3/4 days a week to play golf. Golf in Bloomington the other days. Life is great if I could get clients to call the new owner instead of my phone. 😊

I like I69. Used it yesterday coming/going to Vincennes for Rendezvous and drive to Indy often. I didn't oppose 69.

But there were people who lost their land or their home who were not happy.

I know multiple farmers in Daviess County who lost land. They got crazy high prices for the lost land. They replaced the lost acreage with increased acreage. They price of all their land increased and their net worth grew substantially.

In the end it was a plus for farmers IMO.

There was some controversy over land prices. There was a newspaper article that suggested that some with connections made a profit.

But Monroe County property owners, at least the ones I know, opposed it. I live close enough that my land was surveyed. So I know people. We haven't talked about it, maybe now they wouldn't have opposed it. That MAY happen with mid states too.

Here is the original story on overpayment, it once wasn't firewalled which is how I read it long ago. .

I have no problem with government making decisions for the good of all. People opposing 69 pointed out that upgrading 41 would be a lot cheaper. That may have been correct. The people opposing Mid-States may have a similar point. So the question would become, who profits and who benefits. Does that offset the people who lose?

Another side to the prices during I69 was a Quarry and Limestone Mill client in Bloomington on Rockport Road. They got totally screwed by INDOT and had to fight in the courts.
