on an Atlanta sports radio show this morning Tony Barnhart was talking about the UGA job, and after mentioning that Mark Richt is definitely talking with Maryland about its open position, the host started naming some possible candidates for the UGA job, starting with Kirby Smart, of course. Barnhart said that Tom Herman is unlikely since he only has 12 months HC experience at a 2nd tier school, Kyle Willingham is a west coast guy . . . and then Mark D'Antonio's name came up. Barnhart said D'Antonio would be a perfect fit for the SEC, but said that the UGA job isn't where D'Antonio would likely land if he were to move to the SEC; it'd be South Carolina, since that's his alma mater.

Hmmmm . . . .

Whittingham was long rumored for the USC job but that faded when it was clear they were going to keep it in the family. Kirby Smart is a Saban guy through and through, and the UGA people are out of their minds to find a way to beat NS. Hiring his long time DC (and UGA alum) may be it, but he's never been a head coach. Lots of directions the program can take from Richt, and most of them are down.

Scott Frost to UCF.

Good pick for UCF. He was on the news here tonight talking about the changes he's going to make and the explosive offense they'll have. He is beginning recruiting the central Florida area already
