Co-President Musk

You tell me.

But I can tell you unequivocally that right now it's Trump and Musk. Musk - - - the world's richest man, the biggest government contractor, Trump's biggest donor, office in the White House, now the holder of the keys to the kingdom.

And Musk's ability to leverage the federal government to his financial benefit, as well as his overall influence, will only grow as Trump gets even older, less focused, less interested and less engaged.

Shrewd guy, that Musk, to hitch his wagon to the Trump Train. He's destined to be not only the richest man in the world but also the most powerful.
Didn’t expect you to be a conspiracy theorist. Welcome brother.

I feel like that kind of trickle-down policy has been proven wrong over the last 40 or so years. There are a lot of people who get left behind when things like tech innovation takes off. The example I've brought up here - mostly because I'm close to it - is people in rural Appalachian areas.
Lower taxes, smaller government, and less regulations aren't the issues. It's the monetary system that has been leaving people behind.

I have little doubt that they're gearing up for a fight to cut some of what they label entitlement programs, but do you actually think they'll make meaningful cuts to defense? I don't.
I think they'll make some cuts with DOGE and try to inflate/grow their way out of the deficit. Not sure they'll be able to do it, but it's how I interpret Bessent's plan. They need to get rates down and the dollar down to have a chance.

I actually think making meaningful cuts to defense could get a lot of bipartisan traction. We could way back and still be spending a crap ton on it. I'm not hopeful that will happen though.
I agree, but doubt it happens.

He's amassing power at warp speed.

And he didn't get a single vote. Or face confirmation hearings. Or make financial disclosures. And who's providing the oversight? Trump? Well, that's reassuring.

Only in [our new] America.

No splashy headline, but the last article above might be the most troubling.
The people truly do hate Musk for his role in this…

Democrat dumbasses. People are waking up.

With the freakout by the dem senate you know we are on the right tack regarding USAID. Its all being exposed now. And it is no secret Elon was going to have a big role. This was all known before voting started so people had every chance to elect Harris.

I know it's been touched on before here... But VA disability is ripe with abuse.

The VA budget is now almost half the size of DOD budget. A lot of it considered 'mandatory' spending that's on autopilot.

But who's ever going to touch that?
VA head should have probably been Hegseth’s position. He’ll still do great at Defense but he’s written multiple books about VA reform.

Starting with expanding veterans choice which would drive a lot of those VA providers of business and cut the mandatory spending significantly.

The Democrat freak-out over Musk is a clear sign of their shallow stupid thinking. They have no clue about how to mount an effective defense of the size and scope of the federal government that they strenuously defend in every forum. Instead they make Musk into a boogeyman. That won’t work.

We’re 35-40 trillion in the hole with 35-40 million here in poverty. This isn’t working

Interesting plan by Bessent. I once attempted the 9-9-9 plan, but had diarrhea afterwards for a week.

Do you ever wonder about your sources? Isn't it strange that you have no idea who people like Insurrectionist Barbie and Catturd are? Or if they're people at all? I see them - among others - popularly shared here. I'm very skeptical of any social media account that shares 'news' is has no accountability. It's pretty weird and strange if you ask me.

It seems accounts like those have their biggest follower numbers on X. I wonder why that is?

I trust my sources more than I trust the legacy media. Legacy media is bought and paid for, likely with funds from USAID. They promote an (Democrat) agenda. They don’t report the news. A person has to working overtime not to understand this.

Bill Ackman reposted this. He’s a real person. What about Elon Musk? He’s posting all sorts of similar information. You’ve been misled.

They don't care, Ohio. It's a form of addiction, and their brains are fried.

There's tons of research on this, and related media coverage, but I'll go with a source that the far-right obsessive scrollers (and posters) here are probably cool with.

It's just odd to me to accept information blindly from an X feed you have no idea where it's coming from or who it is. But yeah, being addicted to confirmation bias, regardless of where it comes from, seems to prey on certain people.

He's not much different than an advisor, except for the $400B. How many votes did Jared Berstein get? Valerie Jarrett? Bruce Reed? Anita Dunn? Ron Klain?

Musk is just transparent by tweeting. The others? Not so much.

Not much different than an advisor? You’re badly uninformed.

I’m tired. Here’s the short answer. He has unprecedented power and has been given unprecedented access to federal systems.

Ahhh, yes. And you know what access and power all the other unelected officials had, right?

Good grief. Musk is tweeting everyday, totally transparent. Not hiding a damn thing about what he is doing. All for the world to know.

Yet, the Biden team hid that Biden was incapable of governing and threatened Twitter, Meta, and others if they did not hide information (i.e. censor) during the pandemic.

It’s unprecedented.

But keep rolling out the yabbuts and false equivalences.

TyWebb isn't smart enough to know that his sources are idiots who are duping him. He breathlessly and unquestionably shared a Twitter Twit's tweet that said Walz was a pedophile how diddled with young boys. He preceded it with something like "if true," but clearly wanted it to be true and treated it as if it was true. He still hasn't apologized for it which makes him a dishonorable man (I assume) without a shred of integrity. Ty is a stupid and dishonorable dupe.

No, you've been misled. Musk - the mastermind behind this whole fracas - has been retweeting false information about what is and isn't being funding by the government. He's the one shutting crap down and in a lot of cases, he's not entirely sure what he's shutting down.

One of the most glaring instances is Musk did retweet something about USAID secretly funding Politico. Turns out, that was patently false.

Scanning out further, this is why it's a bad idea to have a billionaire megalomaniac have unfettered access to the US Treasury. If he's wrong about this, what else might he be wrong about?

I think your point about wanting something to be true is a good one. Twitter accounts run by unknown people can just throw crap on the wall and most of us will see that none of it actually sticks. Posters like Ty take picture as the crap is running down the wall and shows us all that picture claiming it as proof that it stuck.

The weather service is on the block.
This has been a goal for a while, going back to the last Trump Administration. Free weather forecasting is clearly preventing people from making profit. And profit is more important. I know I am looking forward to having to pay to get tornado warnings.

Hopefully your new weather report comes equipped with a sharpie.

I am fascinated at where/ how Elon cultivated these young autists to participate in DOGE.

I assumed he would want world class programmers like this at one of companies. But he diverted them to this project.

He’s raising a harem of pupils, protégés to be the next Elon’s and guide the world forward.

Um...what do you think Elon is doing with these teenagers and early 20 somethings? Maybe it's me, but I think 'harem of pupils' means something very different to a lot of people than what you think it does.

I know you're trying to be funny, but you just confirmed that you didn't misspeak/ mistakenly type and that you think Elon Musk is keeping his young engineers squirrelled away so he can occasionally screw them.
Yes, it was a joke. I know that may seem odd as I’ve been vocal in my support for Elon’s work at DOGE.

Sometimes I will make jokes about people I like, people I’m politically aligned with, etc.

This is a concept I’ve noticed leftists frequently struggle with.

Ha...if that was a joke, it was pretty bad. If we were all hanging out in person and you told that "joke" no one would laugh and they'd think you were weird.

I still think you misused the word, but whatever. If you want to tell the board you were trying to make a funny, knock yourself out.
