Co-President Musk

Agreed. And I don’t even necessarily mean to imply there’s malfeasance and defalcation and all that shit. Just to say hey. Shine a light on it. This is being funded at this amount. Is it worth it. What are the outcomes. What is it costing taxpayers to achieve them. Etc.
100% to all that.

My concern is that the unintended consequences of this will be deep and long ranging. My gut tells me they're taking a machete to funding now and might get around to asking questions later. I could be wrong.

He's amassing power at warp speed.

And he didn't get a single vote. Or face confirmation hearings. Or make financial disclosures. And who's providing the oversight? Trump? Well, that's reassuring.

Only in [our new] America.

No splashy headline, but the last article above might be the most troubling.
Who was running the White House for the last 4 years? Does anyone really know?

This isn’t meant to be an insult or snide comment, but that might be the most naive and clueless post to ever appear here.
I wish that I could consider you naive on the things that you speak to champion. I simply see through the BS and your ideology was just soundly defeated as not where the populace 1)wants the country/ world to go and 2) is totally destructive to what the United States of America was design by and for.
Your ideology is the problem and is being totally exposed.
Now, to me this is not personal, but an opportunity to you and those like you to re-evaluate. You all are forcibly making yourselves the enemy of good and righteous people who want accountability and for EVERYONE to understand what it takes to succeed and strive for the American dream. YOU are the problem. Let there be zero question about that what so ever.

Get your anti-US and anti-Ukraine propaganda straight from Russia controlled Pravda instead of a Twitter Twit.

So it’s not true?

You really think Governments are more efficient than free markets?
I don't see anyone arguing for across the board removal of government subsidies. Would you be good with that?

And yes, there are parts of this country that would suffer greatly if state and federal funding went away.

If not all, an overwhelming majority. So, basically yes.

No, living standards in this country would greatly improve if we cut the Federal Government by 60-70%.

You doubt it because?
First, it’s outrageous and should be doubted for that reason alone. Most outrageous stuff from social media is bull shit. Second, the source is Pravda which is a well known and proven source of misinformation. Third, can’t find any corroboration and they cited no sources. Why wouldn’t it be doubted? That’s a serious question.

You tell me.

But I can tell you unequivocally that right now it's Trump and Musk. Musk - - - the world's richest man, the biggest government contractor, Trump's biggest donor, office in the White House, now the holder of the keys to the kingdom.

And Musk's ability to leverage the federal government to his financial benefit, as well as his overall influence, will only grow as Trump gets even older, less focused, less interested and less engaged.

Shrewd guy, that Musk, to hitch his wagon to the Trump Train. He's destined to be not only the richest man in the world but also the most powerful.

I could go through every nonprofit in my community and cut out half the programs. They make no difference. Fictional outcomes. They’re in existence to fund the social workers who work there and create work for themselves
Hell...start with colleges. Eliminate all the bullshit administrative leeches (cough) and marketing "chicks" (double cough) to the bare minimum, cut the vanity overhead costs, and make a school like Indiana relatively affordable for an in-state kid again.

What are the 'good' subsidies you'd consider keeping? There are actually ones I'm greatly in favor of reducing, removing and/or redirecting, but I'm genuinely curious about where your non-negotiable line is drawn here.

How do you see that playing out?

Democrats are going to learn a hard lesson in why you don’t let the Federal government grow so large.

When you’re funding every corner of society from NGO’s to sanctuary jurisdictions to colleges. You’re not going to like what happens when someone takes a hold of those purse strings and decides to enforce federal law.

You want to still do DEI in admissions? Okay your school gets no funding.

Your hospital still wants to transition minors? How about no more Medicare funding?

Won’t enforce immigration law? Your city can get no dollars either.

A Republican who’s willing to wield executive power and not just act as controlled opposition. What a marvelous thing.
