Curious for your take
@76-1
I have always felt that some of the bowl season football lacks the crispness of regular season games. Largely influenced by marquee players sitting out...and loads of talent with an eye on (or even in) the portal.
Do you think the playoff system will enhance the quality of post-season play.
Of course, you may not feel that the bowl season lacks the crispness or quality of football.
Again. Like your posts and insights and curious what you think.

I was just reacting to the concept of our hosting a CFP game and topping it off with Alabama as an opponent (which I think all that coming together is unlikely but I'd Love to see it happen)...
Now if you're referring to my scheduling comment, I feel strongly that it is simply not worth the risk versus the reward to schedule tough, toss up at best, teams for our non-conference games. This season is a prime example of why...
The schedule has been nearly perfect in allowing our Team to face a post Fall camp warm up game (FIU), an ultra easy 2nd game (W IL) to work out the kinks and check on our depth before playing a potentially difficult Away game to open the Big Ten schedule ((UCLA)), then a highly winnable but semi-challenging in some areas tune up team (Charlotte), before starting our Big Ten schedule in earnest ((Maryland)) who was a little tougher then UCLA and then ((Northwestern)) who was a little bit tougher than Maryland...; and now we ratchet things up a notch with Nebraska after our bye week...
Now that's perfect scheduling in my book. Scott Dolson did his part with the out of conference tweaks and the luck of the draw from the Big Ten did the rest...
As long as we continue to look to our Teams best interest in future scheduling then we'll have a fighting chance to make some hay when we reach our always tough Big Ten schedule... (I don't think there's any such thing as an "easy Big Ten game)... All that is just my opinion of course but I think it's based on some "proof is in the pudding", common sense..,
So..., truly I don't think much about the Bowl season because I think the Big Ten regular season takes precedence and if we keep taking care of business by getting better each week and Winning then the post season will sort itself out on its own...
Now the relevance of the Bowl games in the modern era is a whole other discussion... I'm for an expanded CFP (beyond just 12 teams) but that's also a whole other discussion...
