I'm almost through this book I got recently at the library. An interesting historiography of the evolution of the evangelical church. I don't really agree with all of her interpretations but her history, at least as I lived it, was spot on. A couple chapters spanning from the founding of Promise Keepers through the 90s evangelical subculture, Christian mass media, Purity Culture/True Love Waits/I Kissed Dating Goodbye/Promise Rings, and into the Wild at Heart brought back a flood of memories. I'd even forgotten that I'd read Wild at Heart until she was discussing its content and I remembered the exact passages.
It was at least thought-provoking.
