That said, there are fewer than ten (10) trans athletes competing in NCAA sports. It is estimated that the number of trans girls competing in high school girls sports is very small.
My question is this. With all the shit happening domestically and globally that impacts the lives of millions of people, why does this trans “news” makes headlines, why does FOX News cover this stuff in lieu of congressional hearings about national security breaches and, unless you’re trans or a family member of a trans person, how and why does this matter?

I think two things. It shouldn't be news or political discussion period. These people need psychological treatment.
Normalizing deviant behavior is done to redefine what is considered deviant. Trans isn't healthy, it's weird, and shouldn't be normalized. It needs adressed appropriately.

Not ECNL/GA or USYS....kinda a vacation invite deal. Kid was registered as a "girls" player...but I'd have to check and see what the tournament rules explicitly say. All the parents on the sideline we're kinda just doing the "Really?" look.
We kinda tapped out of the future invites after that. Fun setup other than that.
Never been an issue in any ECNL games...or Southern Indiana HS for that matter.
That said, if Ellen/Elliott Paige now concludes he/she feels more comfortable playing Men's roller derby instead of Women's...

To me the answer is pretty obvious. It starts with Democrats making a big deal out of it. Based on your proportions, as stated above, it only makes sense that Republicans run with the freely gifted low-hanging fruit politically speaking.
A more pertinent question in my view is, why does this dominate litmus-test Democratic politics?
Edit: Or historically speaking, when and why did Democrats abandon economic issues, and focus almost wholly on social issues? The tragicomic aspect of this DNC self-destruction is that the business community de facto functions as social justice warriors insofar as they cater to all walks of life as customers. So Democrats could remain in power and achieve all their ambitions if they simply focused on the economy and dropped the social justice warrior schtick. When law school roped me in, they bragged about their 97% placement rate. Later on, I read an article about how only like 45% of people with law degrees actually do law. I should have put two+two together, then, but I was drinking a lot, and also there was this cougar (@larsIU ) that had me f'd up at the time.
When coh says he loves it I know that he’s being honest. It was more enjoyable for his Gen. I’m just old enough to see how they had it. No tiered partnerships. No tort reform. No saturated markets. No advertising!!!! It would have been fun.
My old boss is coh’s age and we still keep up. He’d do about ten to fifteen cases at a time. All seven figures. And he had a war chest to fund it. There was no hysteria. Time to think about the cases. Not scramble. Be fully prepared. That was fun. Really fun.
Today very few of that. Most are running a mill. Scrambling. Hustling. Not fun. 15 cases is fun. 150 cases is hell. Not worth it
Fortunately my business partners. All lawyers. Had enough money and enough contacts with money to be entrepreneurs. It has loads of its own problems but it beats law by a long shot
After I moved back to Indiana, I applied for various prosecutor jobs, thinking, hell, good way to get started, also maybe earn some of that public service loan forgiveness, whatever. I sat in this one interview, and it was fine, I think I did well, but it was for an assistant prosecutor paying $45K/year, and when I was done, he was like, "Well, thanks for coming in, we'll be in contact after we finish the other 35 interviews." I immediately updated my resume for the business world.
