The WW II Sturmgewar and AK47 Soviet response were full auto.

Really? We could on Army posts and at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey and at Goodfellow AFB when I was in.
I kinda wish we couldn't have - I'd have done much better in language school if I'd stayed out of the NCO club.

Not for many years. Don’t remember exactly when that was changed, but had to be 25 years ago, at least.
I’m also a graduate of NPS. I visited on business last month. Best weather of anyplace we ever lived. My wife keeps an eye on the house market there. If we retire-retire there we’ll have to settle for a third of a house for more than twice as much. It’s crazy high there.

I'm sure it is. I can't say the weather was great - I wasn't a fan of the fog every day until late morning. And there was definitely a rainy season in September/October.
However, the lifestyle is great. Loved going down to the beach and making a bonfire with the driftwood. For a kid fresh out of HS in Indiana, I felt like I was living it up. And after I bought my sweet '73 Pinto, I was going up to San Francisco many weekends.
There was a deli right outside the gate - Compagno's. If we didn't have money, the owner would let us run a tab until payday. And the subs were epic. I still miss that place.
Look in Carmel - I'm sure they have some reasonably priced housing. lol
I didn't appreciate the place as much as I should have - I was terribly homesick.
They offered me a slot in an Advanced Russian class if I re-up'd, but all I wanted to do was get home and start classes at IU, which I did 3 weeks after I processed out.
Pacific Grove is foggy. Monterey is a lot less foggy. I’ll likely be visiting about four times a year the next couple years on business, but I’ll get in some golf after work and on a vacation day or two before or after the days of work.

I never saw PG in the mornings. Our classrooms looked right into Monterey Bay and many mornings we couldn't see the bay until after 10am.
I went to Pacific Grove HS for an 8 team HS basketball tournament. The gym seated about 500 people. I was shocked. Coming from small-town Indiana where HS gyms were so huge, it was a surprise to me the gym wasn't bigger.
I believe DLI is overlooking PG.
I think Indiana has 17 or 18 of the largest basketball gymnasiums in the country. They don’t compare in most states.
I’ve had tests all along. Had to buy the first , but got the home tests fairly timely as they came out. I’m fine with my vote when the alternative is Trump.
