You are right. And that is why politics is so wrong today.
Biden and the Democrats took the entire Trump agenda, and then declared Opposite Day. That’s it! Except for whacko stuff like menstruating men, antI-racism on steroids, and apoplectic climate change, Biden and the Democrats propose nothin. They have screwed up all the important stuff in just 18 months. Trump Opposite Day has given us immigration and border chaos, bulked up crime, out of control inflation, the first domestic energy shortage ever, Russian chaos, and soon to be Chinese and North Korean chaos.
Trump Opposite Day didn’t work so well in Virginia, and according to polling data, its not working well anywhere or with anybody now.
The Biden, Pelosi, Harris, and Schumer brain trust couldn‘t manage a small village let alone the United States. And then you bring in advisors like Blinken, Mayorkas, Granholm. Buttigieg, Yellen, et al and we are royally fooked. And just think, these people are the cream of the Democrat crop.

Incidentally, I think for any efforts in this area to have a chance to succeed, you've got to start with an audience that cares about fixing the problem. When a group of folks insist on trying to pretend that every issue that they want to point to as the "problem" is somehow uniquely "American" and doesn't exist everywhere else on Earth, I don't see any way to get thru that level of stupidity.

The Nov 15, 2016 Gallup poll had Obama at 57% approval overall and the week prior to Trump's Inauguration Obama was at 58%, Michelle close to 70, and Biden was at 61%. No way we'd have had to endure Trump had Beau not died and Biden not put running for POTUS on hold while he grieved. Hillary probably wouldn't have run...

Main reason, Trump purposely deflected funds away from pandemic preparedness issues and programs that had been in place since Bush to help fund his wall.
Bush era programs related to public health preparedness didn't change during Obama. So it's almost certain if a member of Obama's Admin had succeeded him they wouldn't have changed them or eliminated them either.
Of course, Obama never anticipated that a lunatic like Trump would ever win in 2016, so the idea that Trump would do something as unbelievably stupid as to eliminate the CDC watchdog on the ground in China never occurred to anyone. We know that Obama went out of his way to try and get thru to incoming Trump Admin people, and some people who were part of the apparatus were so frustrated with Trump's wanton disregard and cavalier approach that they left in protest. There's a paper trail for anyone not blind enough to see for themselves...

But when you point out to them that either result could only have been possible if the CDC official who had been monitoring exactly that possibility on the ground for the past decade had somehow been removed from the scene, it's as if they're incapable of putting 2+2 together.
I mean if you're convinced that the Chinese are responsible, then do you think it's somehow an unbelievable coincidence that Trump happened to remove the CDC Doctor monitoring the Chinese the summer prior to the fall outbreak of covid? I guess in MAGA world facts no linger exist, but it's a fact that Trump cut off the funds and was basically operating blind from Sept 2019 on.
And another fact, in Oct 2019, the WAPO ran an article stressing the US's poor rating in terms of pandemic preparedness, Biden READ the article and addressed it the next day. That same day while Biden was discussing US preparedness, Trump who can't READ, tweeted about a variety of nonsense, including complaining to Tim Cook about the location of the "home button" on the new iphone.
I mean you'd think at some point logic would kick in, and people who blame China for covid would at least be upset with Trump's actions in the summer of 2019.. I mean if you don't "trust" the Chinese, logic would dictate that the LAST thing you'd is remove the person whose sole job it is to keep an eye on them and keep you informed.
But logic just seems to have no place in MAGA cult, and the folks who like your post are a perfect example of that. So yes on the covid issue alone I think we'd have been a hell of a lot better with someone other than Trump in the WH. There were countries who managed to minimize the disaster of covid, and there's no reason the US shouldn't have been in a better position and known about it sooner. That's the way the system was designed and had worked successfully for the prior decade. Dismantling it to feed his own ego and stroke his base is the kind of stupidity Trump is known for...
