Beyond George Orwell.

I think people would be more receptive and cooperative than you think if our gov messaging wasn't so hypocritical and preachy and removed. Regardless gas prices at this level should occasion a switch to more economical cars

Americans like to be contrary. Tell them not to smoke, they smoke. Tell them to save for retirement they live today for tomorrow we die. Tell them to eat healthy and we create McDonalds. Tell them to get vaccinated or wear masks, well, you know. Freedom in America somehow means not listening to any advice. Concern for a better society is considered communism.

Until it runs into financial realities

Trump is a bad guy. Nothing surprises me with his untoward behavior. It's in the best interest of both parties that he be ousted. But only the most partisan fail to see Jan 6 for what it is.

Anyway enjoy the day. Great weather in the Midwest and unbelievable sports on today
Thanks! You too. Here in Florida we’re ending winter with 70s and 80s. Can’t complain.

There is that aspect but there’s another one that’s uniquely American. Americans love to exercise their freedom of choice for the greater good when they are free to choose, in times of pressing need. That’s where leadership comes in. Good leadership successfully appeals to peoples freedom of choice. I don’t see Biden grabbing for that opportunity. That was likewise where Trump miserably failed at the beginning of Covid.

CoH is a partisan hack. Danc is a pathological liar with the maturity of a 12 year-old. You've gone from "Trump should be disqualified from ever holding public office again" in 2021, to "it's nothing but partisan hatred for Trump" and "none of it matters" in 2022.

You were correct in 2021. It matters. It's a big fvcking deal.

But now, with your conversion complete, you're in lockstep with the other two posters. In fact, you guys complement each other exceptionally well and would make a great team. It's about time for another Three Stooges reboot.
Still no link to the Russians using Pompeo as justification? What a shock.

You're a congenital liar.

The Jan 6 report, written by an outsider, perhaps from a good PR or advertising agency, will be a political ad that will make Bowl Chubb up but will never be read by 99.9 percent of voters. Marge filling up at Hucks won't know a thing about it.

Dems are out of touch
That's why they want to produce videos so the media can play it on an endless loop until November. The public won't read it, but they'll watch TV and only read the headlines.

This is so transparent.

We aren't good at it. I recall a book discussing how many communities along the coast refused to black out during WW2, leading German subs to sit far enough offshore American convoys would be backlit.

We don't like the common good, which is strange given numbers that report as Christian and that is very much a doctrine in any Christian faith. Jesus gave up His life for the common good.

That's why change usually comes from necessity not altruism. If gas stays high sales of big suvs presumably will decline

Low gas prices have become an entitlement. We are entitled to them and woe be unto politicians that allow the price to rise. The prices will come back down.

And the market for electric will continue to grow, particularly as prices come down. And I mean the price, not tax credits that are credited with your return down the road

I was thinking of lower speed limits after the oil embargo, people conserving water in California during the drought in the 70s, even World War II the way we operated on rationing and more or less the entire nation turned into a war machine. So on the macroeconomics scale we united in a dramatic fashion. I’m not talking about altruism at all, I’m talking about extreme situations and uniting to face the problem and solve it. People won’t change unless there’s widespread agreement that we need to handle the problem. The problem needs to be real and we need to have the highest level of quality leadership.

Real issues Trumped your partisan bs. Your obsession prevents you from seeing the forest for the trees. F Trump. I couldn't care less if he's disqualified. That doesn't bear on the worthlessness of the Jan 6 committee.

As for your remaining bit, I love that you think you're the arbiter of quality posting. I've read your thousands of hyper partisan inane posts with Danc. Let me clue you in - you're a moron. A hyper partisan moron worrying about the wrong shit. In Nov you'll wonder "Wow! We got killed. Why didn't that damning Jan 6 report turn more voters?" The answer will be the same as today. You. Are. Stupid. You worry about the wrong gotcha bs. Clueless. People don't care. They don't want tranny swimmers. They don't want a social welfare state. They don't care about Jan 6. Wake up. Eastman lmao. What a stupid shit you are. If you polled a thousand people one thousand would say they don't have a clue who Eastman is.

Gas and groceries... hell you have the Vid in another thread stating he's voting Republican. One of the most ardent Dems I've read on here. Don't pretend like you're some objective poster - you post partisan bullshit. Just totally out of touch
I guess I struck a nerve. What an ugly rant. And I see it's been edited. If this is the revised version, I can't begin to imagine what the original was like.

My position has nothing to do with partisanship. Prior to Trump, I was a registered Republican for many years. I'm not a Democrat and never have been. You won't find a single post where I'm cheering for Pelosi or Schumer, or promoting some woke cause. I've commented on multiple occasions that Biden's first year has been a trainwreck. But quick (and inaccurate) labels (like "hyper-partisan") probably work well for you because they make things easier to process and don't require much thought. If I despise Trump, it must be because I'm some Squad-loving, socialist, dyed-in-the-wool, defund the police, dirty Dem.

The thing that's fascinating is that it wasn't long ago when you were one of the loudest anti-Trump voices here. You were one of his biggest critics in the weeks and months following January 6. You wanted him disqualified from holding public office again. I don't know what changed except the position of Republican leadership. After their initial outrage, they realized January 6 (and the events leading up to it) was a huge liability for the party in 2022 so they decided it was a nothingburger. And, predictably I guess, so have you. Talk about hyper-partisanship.

Anyone can have a bad day and maybe you're having one today, but your post is unhinged and classless and something I'd expect from the guy who loved it, not from you. You're better than this. I think.

Lol do you have yourself on ignore? All of your positions have to do with partisanship. As for the better than this, there you go again acting like an arbiter. Let me be plain: 1) I think you're an idiot. The shit that you are preoccupied with is silly. You've written novels on here about shit few/if any care about. Academics and Squad members. People removed from reality 2) I don't give two shits about you.

As for Trump I certainly hope for someone better. With the benefit of time passing we've learned things could be worse....

Okurrrrr

Like many on the far right, it appears you've got some serious anger management issues. It must be that steady diet of culture wars, grievance politics and the cornerstone of grievance politics - - - victimization. They're out to get us. The Kinzinger/Cheney vendetta report. Abuse by elites. Socialist professors. Trans swimmers. Don't say gay. Election fraud. Bamboo in the ballots. Etc.

I suppose if I was lapping that stuff up on a daily basis, I'd be enraged as well.

Maybe you can find an outlet of some kind. But, in the meantime, take heart in the fact that you've obviously given danc a raging hard-on today. He's loving your unhinged rants. He's finally got a classless compadre who's literate. (I figured I'd close with a compliment).

This is not responsive to this post, just to you.

When you first started posting here, you damaged your credibility by loudly proclaiming that CO.H was the GREATEST. POSTER. EVAR. You even renamed your wife your "Stoker" in his honor. It was funny, but also dumb. By endorsing this abortion of a thread you continue to erode whatever good will you have.

Above, you claimed to basically be a Democrat (although for selfish reasons). If that were true, you wouldn't so strongly get behind the posterboy for Republican Good Democrat Bad.

It's great that you think partisanship is bad. It's ridiculous that you don't recognize that you are hilariously partisan.

Credibility lol. from the guy who never sees hypocrisy and has zero self awareness. Is Bowl your other handle? Hell you defend Cosmic. The most blatantly partisan hack on the board yet attack Coh. Lol. That's rich. Get real. Floor, Coh, myself all seem to think the same of you. Odd huh? There are numerous posters on here from Brad to Ranger to Crazy who think this batch of progressives are the worst. There's a long history of Democrats I like. This batch I cannot stand. In keeping with what appears to be a hell of a lot of moderates. That shouldn't be hard to comprehend. Even for a hyper partisan guy like you with zero self awareness.

Sigh. I was hoping for something new in your response. You are rehashing the classics only!

Cheers!

Sigh. Again. Thought we might have a fun conversation tonight. You're clearly not into it.
Hypocrisy and self awareness. I'm happy to review your posts and when you seem triggered to interject and what side you call out. Remember your board apology last week? Have we forgotten already? You should keep a journal.

Please don't use the pretentious "we" with me. I don't deserve much, but I deserve better than that.

Do you? You interjected, not me, again....But as is all too often the case - you interject without bullets. Just smoke. Think about your posts and your apology to posters last week. Partisan hypocrisy gave rise to it...again. Self-awareness....

Maybe mcm is drunk again. He gets on these unhinged rants and lashes out and there's no reasoning with him. Speaking from experience...don't bring up the USWNT if you care about the guy. He'll burn his house down.

This thread is about how the Jan 6 committee is worse than Big Brother, continuing OP's fetish with Newspeak, which has been going on for a while. You love it, for some reason. I'm needling you about your love for dumbassery.

Well, obviously, he's drunk right now. We should all be drunk right now. If you're not drunk right now, you're doing something wrong.

I did. Because I mistakenly thought you'd be a fun discussion partner and not a whiny bitch. My bad.
Self awareness. Are you and Bowl one in the same. Do you too have yourself on ignore? Your post was attacking me. And you interjected yourself into the thread for that purpose. Again self awareness. What you got back was a light response. Trust me.
