I guess I struck a nerve. What an ugly rant. And I see it's been edited. If this is the revised version, I can't begin to imagine what the original was like.
My position has nothing to do with partisanship. Prior to Trump, I was a registered Republican for many years. I'm not a Democrat and never have been. You won't find a single post where I'm cheering for Pelosi or Schumer, or promoting some woke cause. I've commented on multiple occasions that Biden's first year has been a trainwreck. But quick (and inaccurate) labels (like "hyper-partisan") probably work well for you because they make things easier to process and don't require much thought. If I despise Trump, it must be because I'm some Squad-loving, socialist, dyed-in-the-wool, defund the police, dirty Dem.
The thing that's fascinating is that it wasn't long ago when you were one of the loudest anti-Trump voices here. You were one of his biggest critics in the weeks and months following January 6. You wanted him disqualified from holding public office again. I don't know what changed except the position of Republican leadership. After their initial outrage, they realized January 6 (and the events leading up to it) was a huge liability for the party in 2022 so they decided it was a nothingburger. And, predictably I guess, so have you. Talk about hyper-partisanship.
Anyone can have a bad day and maybe you're having one today, but your post is unhinged and classless and something I'd expect from the guy who loved it, not from you. You're better than this. I think.
