The last serious tangle I had was with you about a month ago. Shortly thereafter I was called upon to help some people, nothing particularly special, but afterwards I enjoy the satisfaction so much that I simply said I don’t need this shit, meaning arguments with people. Since then I basically haven’t gotten into it with anybody because it’s just plain more fun to enjoy myself and treat people civilly.
I don't mind arguing. What I don't like are posts like Goat's interjecting post that had nothing to do with the thread.
Right. I’m talking about the spirit of play. We are all fellow Americans. We can debate without the necessity for contentiousness.
And again I don't mind debating in that fashion. The reality is that there are posters where debates often devolve to arguments. And that's okay. I don't mind that either. It's fun sometimes. What isn't okay is Goat's post to me in this thread. He got triggered, again, and his post had zero to do with the topic
In other words it devolves into assholery. Sounds to me like goat was reading along and decided you were being an asshole. So be it. Who cares if he wasn’t middle of the argument. We’re all in the middle of it. My current tastes are just to sit and watch when the shit hits the fan.

Sure but it’s a small one compared to quality posts versus angry arguments even without personal attacks. Your back and forth with the bowl mania was definitely on the low end of the quality-to-nonquality continuum.

Hypocrisy abounds on this board. Bowl has a hard on for Jan 6 but laughs at Spartans post re investigating Fauci. Covid is a hell of a lot bigger deal than Jan 6. People want answers. Where's the committee coverage investigating the bungling CDC? The difference is Bowl isn't much of a thinker so can't be objective about anything and see the hypocrisy. He doesn't like those people who want answers from Dems. Only the opposite.

That's the point Joe. You can believe in Democrats and not progressivism. You can be a Republican and not support Trump. I've come full circle on Melania. She's in a horrible situation. She actually seems like a pretty good mother to Barron. She's kept him out of the spotlight and protected him from the assholery of his father. Case in point, look at how Rittenhouse behaves when given a spotlight. I bet we don't see or hear much at all from Barron in the future. Hopefully he has as normal a life as he can.
Now, did she put herself in that position. Yes. Did she marry Trump for his money and influence (such as it was/is). Yes. Did she want any of this presidential bullshit, absolutely not.
I think, to me, It is that we all know now that it is totally just theater. Yea things have to be "investigated", but none of their investigations ever have any teeth, other than political theater. Its just a bunch of sound bites and everyone gets a nice soft landing.
When they start actually sending the Sargent of arms to forcibly bring in subpoenaed people and doc's. When parties are personally, physically held responsible. When "heads roll", and it's not all just toothless BS, then I will take any of it serious.

To try and bring this back full circle, the Jan 6 events were a political rally that turned into a riot. I think there were some items that the rioters were upset about that had some merit. Did that mean the election was stolen? Not necessarily. However, the rules of the game were changed in the middle of the event and there were numerous instances of outside and inside parties being involved in false stories and suppression of truth. That being said, they shouldn't have rioted.
Most Americans see it that way. The panel is bringing in someone to sex up their fact finding mission because they don't have anything that the majority of the country doesn't already know or has moved on from. "This movie is a dud so we need a slick ad campaign to trick some suckers into watching it before word of its shittiness gets around." That is what this is.
And their will be a move on the right to do something similar when given the opportunity. I want to know what Fauci and the CDC knew and when they knew it. I want to know how and when decisions were changed based on the teachers unions with respect to kids in schools. But really they are the least of my concerns.
