I had 7 or 8 bottles of regular, all good so far.@mr. O
I have about 16 or 18 2015 regular BCBS left. let's hope this infection doesn't really affect many bottles.

I'm saving my 2015 Bourbon County Rare for the day Tom Crean leaves IU.

I'll try and not have a bias but ............

Odd Side from Michigan . This beer is solid, as are the couple other beers I've had from them.Who makes that one?

Now I know why you aren't doing more to stop shootings in this country....First, I'd like to acknowledge the presence of Ziz in the AOTF Beer Thread. We are humbled to have you in our company.
Second, thanks for the tip, I will look for it.
Third, to all the beer nerds here, Scream is readily available (in Wisconsin). This reminds me a LOT of the "old" Lagunitas Sucks. That's a great thing, IMHO. I picked this, the Belgian Red, and Serendipity up today whilst driving through Wisconsin to Madison. In a gas station. Good God, I do love being a beer nerd.

I don't disagree but there are a lot of IIPAs out there that are at least as good. I'll pick some up in Door County next month though. Their milk stout and Oud Bruin are both fantastic for their styles as well. I let my sister in law have the fruit beers.Scream is my favorite New Glarus beer

Josh Noel from the Trib had an interesting article on NG and the hype a couple months back. I don't completely agree with him but he's informed and I respect his opinion.

I agreed with pretty much every word in that article. If I'm driving through Wisconsin, I buy their stuff, gladly, but I wouldn't make a special trip.I don't disagree but there are a lot of IIPAs out there that are at least as good. The brewery itself is spectacular though. I will give NG a lot of credit for that and it's a really cool place to visit. The beer is definitely good enough to pick some up when in the neighborhood. Something about that brewery though is just kind of irritating to me. I think it's that I hate the stupid, quaint little stories they put on their labels. But it's also the hype over stuff like Spotted Cow, which is merely a nice, drinkable summer beer.I agreed with pretty much every word in that article. Yep, the marketing end of NG is, um, "fluffy." The labels are too wordy and REALLY hard to read. BTW, Two Women may be their best "real" beer (since I don't consider the fruit beers to be beer - they're Kool-Aid with a little alcohol mixed in, IMHO). Either that or the brown ale.The brewery itself is spectacular though. I will give NG a lot of credit for that and it's a really cool place to visit. I think it's that I hate the stupid, quaint little stories they put on their labels. But it's also the hype over stuff like Spotted Cow, which is merely a nice, drinkable summer beer.
For example, here is the story on Two Women on NG's website:
"Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men.
The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hold the result “Two Women” a Classic Country Lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops. A tempting and graceful classic lager found…Only in Wisconsin! ".
It makes me think of this:

Nice. Gotta check out my beer store and see if they can acquire it.Kozel makes good beer. They make the best dark beer of the bigger Czech breweries. That one is a dark/light mix. It is owned by Pilsner Urquell.
I picked up Fantasy Land in the Madison area a few months ago on the store owner's advice. It was fine but I won't buy another 6 pack when Surly , TG, and many others are sitting in the same cooler. Fortunately the shop also had Sue, Zealander, and Abrasive so it was a damn good haul.Yep, the marketing end of NG is, um, "fluffy." The labels are too wordy and REALLY hard to read. Karben4 in Madison is the brewer. The "hostess" at the Courtyard Bistro told me I should get this after I told her the Spotted Cow they had was nice, but they should offer Scream - and then gave her a bottle of said Scream. I did a quick search and there was a Woodman's (a grocery store with a HUGE liquor store attached) 5 minutes away. I picked up this (it's very good, IMHO), Rubaeus (which somehow never makes its way to Mankato even though they get all the other Founders stuff at my beer store), Sierra Nevada's High Altitude pack (can't wait to try the Chocolate Chili Stout), Southern Tier's Choklat Oranj, and Karben4's Dragon Flute (their APA).
This beer nerd thing is getting out of control - I had so much beer in the back of the Journey, I was riding a wheelie all the way home.
I won't pick it up again, either - very good, but not even close to earth-shattering.I picked up Fantasy Land in the Madison area a few months ago on the store owner's advice. I had the SN chocolate chili stout on draft in Rockford on the way back on that same trip. That was a damn good beer. Not Xocoveza, but damn good. You'll enjoy it. And don't underestimate that barrel aged Bigfoot.
man, now I'm kicking myself. Last weekend I almost picked some of that up and went with a local session IPA instead (which was decent in and of itself). If you're ever in Columbus, OH some of Land Grant Brewery's stuff is worth a try. Stiff Arm is a good IPA, especially on tap. This is my jam tonight. Really enjoying it. I don't like it as much as Hopslam or The Oracle, but I like it more than Two Hearted - and I LOVE Two Hearted.

Ranger says, "Hi, AOTF Beer Thread. Make my daddy give me beer!!!"

complete aside - I love the 2003 IU football glass. My cousin played offensive line on that team and I met my wife the night before the Kentucky game.No beer thread replies on Memorial day? That's inconceivable!

About to fire up the grill and enjoy a couple of these.
Thanks for the tip. My Mom and 2 sisters and baby bro live in Dayton, so I'm in Ohio at least once or twice a year. I'll look Land Grant up.man, now I'm kicking myself. I'm a big Two-Hearted guy too. I'm going to try some of this stuff this weekend though.
Hoops, if there is any chance you can hook me up with that I'd be mucho appreciative. I have a bottle of the Pipeworks chocolate chili stout, End of Days, waiting for me at a friend's place in Chicago too whenever I get a chance to pick it up.18th Street will be releasing their Hunter Chili sometime very soon - this one has been rumored for some time, and I'm curious how it will stack up with the other notable chili stouts mentioned by @PtownHoosier and @ovaltine .

I will for sure get an "allotment" - problem with 18th is that they don't announce allotments in advance. I'll snag what I can and will share as I'm able.Hoops, if there is any chance you can hook me up with that I'd be mucho appreciative. Next time you come to town there will be a couple new places for you to check out. We got a new beer bar with 40 taps and a good menu called Thyme right around the corner from Kelleher's. Plus the Fox is now up to 25 taps and some great, rare choices. We also have a pour your own draft place opening soon in the Heights that I'll be curious to check out, and an Isaac and Obed's brewery and pub is opening downtown this summer. They're out of Springfield, and I enjoyed their beer and food there the one time I was there. We've been behind in the beer world for too long, but we're finally catching up a little bit.
Little O stands tall in my eyes. You are a gentleman and a scholar for bringing this to our attention.
Little O was talking about you the other night - "Dad, how's that guy that sent you the 2 cases of Zombie Dust?" You're a mythical figure in his eyes.

I'm anxious to catch another Peoria job, but I never know when that will happen. I am, however, heading up to the north woods of Wiscy, Minoqua to be exact, so I'm looking forward to seeing what I can acquire up dere, for cripes sake. You're the man. If you can't get any extra, no big deal.
