Beard and Ole Miss about to beat Alabama at Bama

Beard has the experience and ability to win at IU. I don't know that he has much of a desire to move farther north. But he is a good coach, has the coaching pedigree and would be able to handle the bright lights of Assembly Hall.

I don't know anything about why he left Texas or personal misdeeds. I don't remember reading anything definitive.

From a coaching perspective, he is a good match I think. Not the only one.

Yea, of course she did. And I’m sure there was no money involved.

Anyone who reads the police report and still thinks Beard would be a good role model and leader for the university is fooling themselves. No thanks.
if the police have enough evidence, they could have still charged him, we live in a country where a felon can be president but an accused but not convicted person in a domestic dispute cant coach basketball.

I'm willing to bet Pam Whitten does.....
One key role Pam and the BoT has in this process is considering reputation and headline risk for the university. There are many good coaches out there, Beard’s baggage isn’t worth it. Every article on the new IU hire would talk about the DV allegations. And there are stories beyond the DV stuff that isn’t good either. He isn’t the right candidate.

In Mississippi, I seriously doubt he'll be under the kind of scrutiny he'd be under here. He knows that, Pam and the BoT know that.

About that moral compass... The country just elected a convicted felon without any sense of morality by a landslide. Most acknowledge his reprehensible character, but yet they thought he was the man to lead our country.

Would bet that many of those taking the high ground on Beard probably voted for our next president. But, I understand that the IU coaching job is probably more important, so I'm sure we need to uphold our standards.

biggest problem I see with hiring Beard is getting Beard to come here. Ole Miss threw him a lifeline; I would think he would have some loyalty to them. number 1 thing most coaches ask about a job is can I win there. He is answering that quite well at Ole Miss. SEC is the premier basketball league in the country right now. I seriously doubt he would have any interest in us

Bad analogy. This isn’t an election between two people. IU has many options to hire for their next coach.

btw I get you’re biased, but the reality is both sides don’t have much morality.

It wasn't a landslide - less than 50% of the popular vote and less than 1.5% more than the primary opponent is not a landslide. Sorry but those are the stats.

Indiana and IU Bloomington/Bloomington are distinct
There is a gulf between the politics of Texas and the politics of Austin. The decisions made with respect to the prosecution of Beard , and his dismissal from the University, are rightfully considered with respect to the politics of Austin not the politics of Texas. Not sure what your point is. Is there a similar case in Bloomington?

Yes and it's widening as the Indiana legislature continues to move to the right.
