Argentina elects "far-right" libertarian--will they turn it around?

Things like this are why I’m just not all that moved by charges that Pete Hegseth is unqualified to lead the DoD.

Look at what the people who are (supposedly) qualified to lead it have done. It’s (no pun intended) indefensible.
Co-sign. The gov lifers. Biden 50 years. Harris her entire working. On and on Don’t care. They play with Monopoly money. Never worry about payroll. Bottom lines. Etc. Just tax the people. Terrible stewards of our money

Covid money boondoggle. And Medicare fraud. That pls interest on debt is basically that entire $900b

I mean paying $659B in interest sucks.... But it's not really optional.

No, interest payments aren't optional. But virtually every other line item in federal outlays is.

35+% inflation, but down from 250%. Also rising poverty levels. But hey, long term they may be OK.

Like I said, go in with the intent to burn it all down and let the pols bust their asses to save what's really important to them. We elect representatives for a reason. Make them earn their money. If the end result is even a 10-15% reduction, it's better than nothing.
Cutting 10% would be a miracle. We balanced the budget in the 90s by basically just not increasing the budget - much.

A 10% cut now would not only help the deficit today, but would drastically slow an increase in the years to come.
