First of all, we can't go firing promising coaches 2 years into their contract - we will never convince anyone to coach here, let alone play here, if we do that. But more importantly, IU is still paying Crean, we aren't going to pay Archie $20 million to coach somewhere else too.

We know he isn’t going anywhere. That doesn't make him a good coach and right guy for the job. He would probably do better at a different school that doesn’t shackle its premier sports programs. We have to change the administration before changing the head coach.

Maybe not but that does not mean the resuts will suddenly magically just get better. People seem to be under some delusion that it will all just turn around in year three like it did for Jay Wright and Coach K. There is no guarantee of anything.

He's not going anywhere, but the honeymoon is definitely over. IU cannot afford to pay 3.5 mil and have them to lose the team. Big time coaches take control and make the necessary changes. What we have with Archie is called insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

The game plan was better in the last 2 games and the play has been better also, although against Iowa there were stretches of bad play, and some individuals who were not competing the entire time.

Yea probably what Alabama fans said before Saban.....

In other words, you want the programs to cheat?

He’s almost half way done. It may not be this year but it’s not far off.

Where do you get this stuff?

In what way had IU shackled the basketball program? Please be specific.

Have you been on the phone with Glass?

I am sure with all the money you have given IU you have his personal number.
No I don’t know Fred. Met him a few times when he first got here when I was involved. But I haven’t bought a ticket or given a dime to the athletic dept in over 5 years.

You know him?

IU makes it very hard to admit grad transfers. Archie had to demand changes in how the program was run just to get basic things like post practice meals and a presentable locker room.

Nope but I didn't proclaim that I had given more money to IU than all others here combined as you did.

That kind of donation grants access if it is true.

Link?
You are making bold claims, back it up.

Bottom line he has not had time to recruit and mature the recruits that will fit his system. See link below of his Dayton team against Iowa.

So he lied to us...

In his first press conference as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers on Monday, Archie Miller described his offense style.

“Style of play for me is always on the run offensively,” Miller said. “I think the more we’re on the run in the full court and the half court, which means a lot of movement and a lot of pace. I think our teams at Dayton were known for great ball movement, unselfishness. But I told these guys, it’s going to be pace, it’s going to be player movement, flow, and it’s going to be an attacking, aggressive style.”

This is the problem right here, I could put up with some losses knowing that the guys were giving their all. My problem is we have guys like Smith, Green, and Romeo who all go through stretches where they play disinterested and they never come out. I'm almost convinced at this point that Smith has a picture of Archie with some sort of farm animal, that at least would explain why he's allowed to make one mistake after another yet he's never made an example of.

The training table buffets were already there and the locker room rehab was coming anyway. BTW Crean has a job so the payments are reduced by the amount he is earning now.

We Weill know a lot more about AMs potential this time next year.

It has nothing to do with anything other than realistic time frame. CAM has 1 recruiting class of his own playing and 1 on the way. Those classes represent the majority of the upside on this team. Morgan is a workhorse, and AD is consistently good and has improved under CAM. The other talent that wasn’t recruited by CAM is very inconsistent and won’t take this team to where we want.

Give the guy a couple more years to build a foundation based on his concepts. If he can’t hack it after that, then he should be replaced. Anybody calling for his head or wishing us to lose right now is an illogical moron.

You’re missing the forest because of the trees. If you can’t see the serious problems with this staff you’re never going to see it.

Thanks fred. But i think 5 years minimum.

Any team would have a difficult time running if you have one point guard who continues to have more turnovers than assists consistently where the team is playing in a league that has 8-9 potential NCAA tournament teams.

The point guard I am talking about played very little in the first 12 games and team went 10-2 with victories over Marquette, Louisville, and Butler. Then his playing time increases significantly and we go 3-8 with the only major win being Michigan State (the only game he played well).

IMO he is the issue. CAM is allowing him the chance to change his attitude. I was at the game against Iowa and saw what many do not watching on TV. This guy doesn't care. Makes a TO and walks back down the court. CAM's weakness is he wants every player to succeed and with this kid he has a lot of talent. However until he starts making wise decisions on both his life and on the basketball floor he will not succeed.

He has been given plenty of chances to succeed. Cancer spreads and will eventually kill the body if it is not eliminated.

You really believe this? Why did they let fred make thee hire?

The hiring decision is quite different than the firing decision for a number of reasons. I believe the hire was his with rubber stamp approval unlike the Crean firing which was taken from his hands for a full season.

I’m only saying you have to give them time. Reread. And what are these serious staff problems IYO. Since you hear everything said and attend all practices and behind doors meetings.

Is time going to make Archie figure out how to run an offense did Crean ever figure out that turning the ball over wasn’t a good game plan.

CAM has had some good offenses and great defenses. He is a young coach and coaches do get better. He also has the opportunity to land higher quality talent than he has ever had. Are you saying nobody gets better?

He has not had good offenses that is false. His offense comes from transition even during his elite 8 run. Go watch
