Who has a free board recruiting update?

One thing we need to bring back in this board is the grid that used to be posted showing eligibility at each position. Guys that have SR+ next to their names, this is their last year. Guys that indicate “SR” in the roster? Do they have an extra year since they were all enrolled during Covid?

It’s a confusing thing, over my pay grade.

Yes! I have no idea who is out of eligibility after this season.

I believe there are also feelers out for another QB, Robert McDaniel, 6-2, 190, pro, 5.7 from Hughson, CA. who is currently committed to AZ.

There are a couple kids they are putting feelers out for high school kids in the 25 class as far as qbs go.

Winnie Watkins, the wide out from Florida, is someone they'd like in the class and has made an official, but it's gonna be a battle to pull him from SEC country.

Outside of that, we're focusing on the 26 class and who could be available in the portal.

With massive graduation rates, Cignetti needs to pilfer the portal. WR, OL, DL, RB, LB and a QB should all be hotly pursued.

It would be awesome to ink a few more stud high school kids, too!

They are working on a couple more flips, portal class probably around 20

I don't care about portal QB's. A good 4th year guy, a couple good 2nd year guys. Not worried. Of course if we do get a good one fine.
I want lineman. Two big injuries, Kidwell and Drew Evans, but the health on both lines has been very good. Won't get that fortunate every year. Hope we do great in the portal. C.J. West has been really great. Hope we score on both lines this year.

Portal QB with productive experience like Rourke can make all the difference in winning. Then Indiana will have al least two QB with game experience for next yr.

We're not going to find a portal QB like Rourke. Never say never, but he's elite. Maybe we can find a good one.

We can win with good line play too. Michigan showed that we won't win as much without it. Gotta keep our QBs healthy and upright. Cig brags that they can scheme and teach production from the QB. I think he's 100% right.
They also scheme great line play. But Jimmies and Joes, gotta have em. Takes some years to build that muscle too.

Cig and staff have taken a transfer QB each of the last 4 seasons dating back to their FCFS days. Each of those QB's have not only become all-conference players, but also won conference POY (Ben DiNucci, Todd Centeio, and Jordan McCloud) and Rourke is certainly an all-conference caliber player in his own right. Whether it's Tayven Jackson or a new portal QB, I expect whoever is under center to be one of the best in the conference.

It's going to get tougher and more expensive every year to bid for those guys. Also, notice Cig didn't bring Jordan McCloud along from JMU even though he entered the portal and transferred. So 'All Conference' must have had a different meaning than really good or elite.

Probably right though that he'll go get competition. Should be bunch of good ones interested in Indiana and Cig. We'll see. I'm betting on Tayven.

McCloud had academic issues, couldn't even get into Auburn. Ended up at Texas State late in the process after finishing some coursework.

I heard the interview where Cig said they honed in on 2 QBs. One was dual threat and the other was rourke. Once Sunseri and shanahan told Cig who they thought was best they went hard after rourke. Wonder who the other guy was? I’m thinking it was McCloud.
