Alot to admire about Alford as possibly IU's next coach, but two concerns I have. One, his team's lack the kind of defensive attitude needed to compete in the B10 and with the elites. Really dislike U.K., but have to say Cal teaches and demands D. The other is a certain willingness to let some players play out of control without putting them on the bench. Ball and at times, Leach, dogged it in D and Ball was chucking shots like he was in the park. After 35+ games, the players should know there is consequence for that stuff. Steve must not have learned that from Knight. Will be interesting to see what happens the next few days.
