About Conversations Versus Insults at The Cooler

He couldn't wait for me to post, could he?

He follows me around like a puppy.

You post in a thread he was already posting in and he is following you around? um sure. that is how it works.

You honestly can't help yourself, can you? Too funny.
"Look, DANC isn't posting here. He must be scared to post"

"I don't care to post here because it's just a bunch of accusations back and forth"

"SEE! He's participating! He just can't stay away".

Whatever you say, Bowel.

Nowhere did I say "Look, danc isn't posting here. He must be scared to post" or anything remotely close to that.

I did reference, though, in Post #11, a certain asshole who lies through his teeth on a regular basis. Thanks for providing another example, and please take a bow.

Troll is used both as a noun and a verb.

Hope this helps.
My error. Troll is also a noun.

According to the Websters dictionary, you are wrong...

2a: to antagonize (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content… trolls engage in the most outrageous and offensive behaviors possible—all the better to troll you with.— Whitney Phillips
b: to act as a troll (see TROLL entry 3 sense 2) on (a forum, site, etc.)… is also notorious, for trolling message boards on the Internet, posting offensive material he himself has written and then suing anyone who responds in agreement.— Mark Hemingway
The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about offensive posting for on-line dictionaries don't know anything more about real arguments than they do about fornicating.

Heel, Fido.

What I think is funny is that nobody can resist responding to any troll. When the old Star forum was going strong there was a poster called Bear Dog that wrote in an odd manner and his sole goal was to rile up other posters. Buzz pleaded with the other posters to ignore him to no avail. I just sat back an laughed because he was good at what he was doing. I sure wish I knew who it was... I'm sure it was a poster that posted on the other basketball forums that i frequented.

Reminds me of the poster on the Herald-Times back in the early 2010s (pre-facebook move/discussion) by the name of "CONFUSED". They were somewhat entertaining and I always read their posts as if they were screaming.

Anyone else here an HT user back in those days?

Exactly. The trolls are trolls because of like-kind responses. Only posting serious content or logical argument s is the antidote.

Either that or completely ignore them. They keep doing it because they get a response.

Ahhh, BearDog...talk about a blast from the past.

There was a time "Lucy" posted from their wrong account. I wish I had screen grabbed it.

What "Lucy" is trying to do is tougher than they think. Colbert managed it. If anyone ever heard Gary Burbank on WLW long ago, he did Earl Pitts, American that was hilarious. I am not sure if Lucy just isn't doing it well or if it just isn't going to work on a message board.
This is correct. I thought many more people caught this at the time, but I suppose not. I know who Lucy is, but I ain’t tellin! It’s not Goat.

I still enjoy the likes Lucy gets from his/her more outrageous parody posts, from the very people he’s clowning. Very solid comedian.

I think I know....

Of course. His posting style was short, but content free.
Of course... his whole goal was to irritate and he was good at it. I thought it was funny that others couldn't resist responding to him... which is exactly what he wanted.

Why does it matter? If an idea is posted that piques my interest, why should I care if it came from a person, a parody, or a bot? Some of the most thought provoking ideas come from fictional or mythological characters. This isn’t to say that Lucy posts deep thoughts. . . . Just sayin’.

Was just thinking the same thing (MAN, I need to step away from this forum). I'm pretty sure I've had people in my extended family who've said much of what Lucy posts. I think most of them are dead, but long live Lucy!

Was it someone like SuperHoosierFan?

The key to keep the board moving forward is to post content and never post personal attacks

Notice none of those guys even want to participate in a thread like this.
BCCH, noticed the same thing.

In trying to figure our why, I considered that the very mention of 60 Minutes put some Cooler folks putting my link into the realm of the false media.

In addition to not listening to people whose politics differ, we have those who only accept a media which promotes their own political agenda.
