Nebraska@IU, Game 3: Neb 19 IU 7. Anemic-hitting Neb batters IU's young pitchers...

LHP Grant Holderfield is on the mound with an ERA of 4.93 and RHP Koty Frank is on the mound for the Huskers with an ERA of 3.26.

This game is on BTN.

In the 1st, Holderfield gets a K to start the game, but then gives up a one-out triple with the runner scoring on a ground out to make it 1-0 with two outs. Holderfield gives up a single but that runner is stranded on a great play in the CF by Sam Murrison as he made a diving catch to end the Huskers 1st.

In IU's 1st, Whalen and Jessee both grounded out, then Pyne hit a triple with two outs. Tibbetts then struck out to end IU's threat.

Can a person really love their job/career?

As I scroll through LinkedIn, I always see people posting about how great their company is or how fulfilling their career has been. I’ve never ever felt that way about any place I’ve worked or my career in general. It has always been a means to an end for me.

But I also know I’m a jaded cynic is most all facets of life. So I’m approaching this with full recognition on my inherent bias. Does anyone here really love their job and/or career?

Butler vs IU: IU 9 Butler 1. Tucker and Bothwell combine to throttle the Bulldogs...

LHP Cole McDaniel is on the mound for Butler with an ERA of 6.32 in 31.1 IP, while RHP Braydon Tucker is on the mound for IU with an ERA of 5.34 in 30.1 IP. IU is the home team at the Victory Field neutral site.

In the 1st, Tucker walks the leadoff batter to start the game, but then gets the next batter on a K in three pitches. A ground out gets the 2nd out with the runner taking 2nd. Tucker then walks his 2nd batter to put runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs. A WP moves the runners to 2nd and 3rd with two outs. A ground out ends the Bulldogs 1st, but it wasn't a real clean inning for Tucker as he left two walks on base.

Whalen strikes out to open IU's 1st. Jessee then singles to put a man on with one out. Pyne lines out to 1B who simply had to step on 1st for the DP to end IU's 1st.

Reactions: Irregulars and 76-1

Instead of having a threesome, my dentist buddy and I had a sixsome today.

It wasn't what you might think. We had 13 golfers in our group at Timbergate today, so we had three threesomes and a foursome. There was a really slow foursome in front of our first two threesomes, so we combined and made a sixsome on the back nine. Ironically, we still had to wait for the group in front of us to get out of the way at times.

That said, it was fun. My dentist buddy and I started telling high school and college stories on regarding each other and they were cracking up the other four members of our group.

He mentioned he was with me the first time I had ever gotten drunk. We were in his room the second semester of our freshman year (next door to my room) and we were listening to the basketball sectional game between Columbus North and Columbus East on the radio. We both wanted East to win because we didn't like North's coach.

Even though East didn't have a single senior on its 1972-73 team, it beat North. It thrilled me and I got drunk. A bunch of our friends then grabbed me and threw me in the shower down the hall.

I shared a story about my dentist buddy fishing in a pay lake with a mutual friend of ours and me the summer after our freshman year at IU. My dentist buddy then stood up in our boat and urinated even though there was a boat with a woman in it about 20 feet away. Our mutual friend was worried about the woman seeing his penis and I said it was too small for her to see from 20 feet away.

It was super windy (25 to 40 mph) today and I shot a 93. but I still had a great time. We trash talked each other for over four hours and experienced some really weird shots in those winds. Believe it or not, I hit the ball great for the last 13 holes. However, the winds affected our drives, approach shots, chips and putts. I don't think I've ever played in stronger winds than today. Yesterday's winds were strong, but not as strong as today's winds.

Effing Reds...

I just saw that the Reds are trading Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez to the Mariners. So for those keeping score at home, you can add those to the growing list of guys the Reds have or soon will push out the door:

Sony Gray
Wade Miley
Nick Castellanos
Tucker Barnhart
Michael Lorenzen

So basically they're going to roll Jonathan India and Joey Votto out there and hope for the best. It'll be a LONG season in Cincinnati...

EDIT TO ADD: I just saw Joey Votto is trending on twitter. Basically people are calling for the Reds to mercy trade him - or for him to demand a trade. Rolling him out there with a bunch of schlubs probably isn't fair to him, so at this point maybe it's time for him to go too.

Why no Victor?

So my interest in the NBA basically stops at checking up on former IU players. I saw that Victor scored 40 in the Heats final game of the season and was happy to see that maybe Victor was getting back to his hold self. Flash forward through the Heats first 2 playoff games and Victor can't get off the bench at all. What's up? I came upon this when I was checking last nights Heat score.

“Both games he has not seen the light of play,” Bayless said on a recent episode of Skip and Shannon: Undisputed (h/t Robert Marvi of Heat Nation).” “Why is that? Well I was told it’s because Jimmy [Butler] just flat out told Spo (Heat coach Erik Spoelstra), ‘I don’t want to share the floor with him.’”
