"We Have New Players"

The old excuse in todays world of college basketball teams built on portal players no longer can be used. UK has 12 new players, a new coaching staff. They are 3-0 and beat #6 Duke in OT last night as most of you know. Took them 3 games and a good coach to learn how to pay together, run an offense and buy into a team concept. I find that very interesting.

Looking For Crowd Song?

I thought I read that we are looking for a song for our student body and crowd when our Hoosiers have another GREAT VICTORY!
Anyone remember 2007 and we needed to be PU to make a bowl? Great game and a last second FG won for IU 27-24. It was fantastic.
Players and fans on the field celebrating and carrying the Oaken Bucket! No one left the stadium and the band played and everyone was
Singing “Hey, Hey, Baby. I wanna know oh, oh, if you’ll be my girl.” It was super. I saw an old teammate Ken Kaczmarek singing and giving fist bumps.
It was a great win and the singing made it a great moment. It’s a feel good song and lyrics. It’s a great song and some great wins are on the way.
Let’s get a song. Practice your singing and let’s “buckle up” and enjoy!
Go Hoosiers!!

Chicago politics and events

I figured quite a few of us live in the Chicagoland area and would start a thread about it.

Chicago politics is different than Indiana politics. We don't really have a functioning Republican party in the city or county, and one-party rule is never a good thing. But the Democrats here range from right of center to radically left of center on social issues (while most just want to ignore any financial issues and kick the can as far down the road as possible).

A request: if you don't live here or visit often, please refrain from just dropping in meaningless "it's a shithole" or "no, it's not; I visited the MagMile and it's so wonderful" posts. Those types of messages add nothing and just show you don't know the city well or care to discuss it in a serious way.

To start, Lightfoot is in trouble with this (I hope):

I don't like Lightfoot much, but honestly don't know much about the other candidates. Anyone up to speed on them?

OL makes Moore Award Semifinalist list.

The entire offensive line has controlled its guys for most of the season, a big reason why IU has the Big Ten’s best scoring offense at 43.9 points with a national-best 59 touchdowns. In addition, the line has allowed pressure on just 22.5 percent of dropbacks this season, seventh best in the FBS despite getting blitzed on 31.9 percent of dropbacks. The line has five Big Ten games in which it didn’t allow a sack.

The result -- Smith and the rest of the starting offensive line of Mike Katic, Bray Lynch, Trey Wedig, Drew Evans and now Tyler Stephens are one of 10 semifinalists for the nation’s Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit for 2024 through the Foundation of Teamwork and the Joe Moore Award.

(I confident that I read elsewhere Alabama and OSU also made the list).

Why did the Democrats push Harris for President?

The Biden-Harris campaign bragged about the huge campaign cash haul from "grassroots donors"....who allegedly gave $millions and $millions to Biden-Harris...
When the demented Biden was benched by the kingmakers, why not Shapiro, or Newsome, or one of the others who received primary support?
The reason is clear. The alleged "grassroots", who may have donated $5, $10, $20 were victims of a nefarious scheme by 'ActBlue' to launder tens of $millions of illicit contributions by falsifying reports to show that these donors gave hundreds or thousands through 'Act Blue' ...
A number of AGs have ongoing investigations, contacting these donors, who had no knowledge of these amounts.....but why Harris?
Any other candidates could not use these funds. Federal election law requires the funds be refunded..in this case to donors who had not given them.
The IRS," Did you declare these funds? Do you have unreported income? Are you a tax cheat?"
It was a scam to protect criminal election scams. Walz was a throwaway...
Anything to protect the criminal acts by the Left.
Anything... to include attempted murder...
I live for the accountability. ..
