I honestly believe that its a situation where the refs are posed with calling fouls or penalties on nearly every possession...or largely letting it go, and only then calling the most obvious or egregious penalties. For B10 bball, I think this phenomena started with the great Izzo 2000 ish teams basically becoming football teams. Refs making the decision to allow it rather than foul everyone out, and the entire league having to adjust... Its why the B10 has the reputation of being "too physical" nowadays.

Cig has been on so many radio and podcasts I have some worry about distractions. I know I should not, he has his system, tuned in, etc, but still humans are human.

That's true. But if the location for Mellencamp is 100% the best location, then I think you either tear it down and figure out the logistics fo that...or as has been mentioned, just build up around it and then tear it down when the new roof is on or something.

These new football practice facilities are an interesting dynamic. In many ways, they go largely unnoticed by most of the fans. But in many ways, they're THE most important building for the players, coaches, recruits, etc...

Notre Dames new practice facility is absolutely insane. Its incredible. But I'm guessing the casual fans have no clue where it is, what it looks like, etc... Its all about Notre Dame stadium. I guarantee Freeman and his staff, the players, and potential recruits, the practice facility is 90% of their time and focus.

So...if the geography in that area is clear that Mellencamp's physical location is the best...tear it down or build around it. Because that will become the most important building in ALL of IU Athletics.

I think its unlikely Rice gets it over Smith. So PG v PG, pretty unlikely. He could get it as a 2nd guard, but the Illinois foreign kid will be tough to beat out, Thornton from OSU, Harper at Rutgers, amongst others.

Reneau and Mack will have competitive numbers, but again, they're going to be competing with guys like Sandfort, Bailey, Garcia, etc...

Ballo, if he averages close to a double double, will likely be viewed as the best true "center', and that could get him in over some of other bigs that will be considered.

I was talking to my son one Friday night when he was a freshman at Purdue. It was very early in the school year and he was bored. He mentioned that some guys down the hall in his dorm were having a party and charging $7 to get in (they had beer/liquor). I Venmo'd him $7 with the legend "Dorm."

He went to the party for a while then decided to leave because it was getting crowded. He's a smart kid, as the party got busted shortly after he left.

My hope is that Vegas, ESPN pundits...heck, even the CFP committee just haven't caught up with just how good this team actually is. If they hold their margin ATS on Saturday, they'll beat OSU.

I guess a flip side question might be...did Vegas "want" to set the line higher, but factored in the ass beatings IU has given them, and actually lowered it to 10 or 11, or whatever the initial line was??? The betting public is stupid, and that's what's driving the line up to 13-14. Vegas, for whatever reason, has also been "stupid" with how they've viewed IU. Hope they remain so, for 1 more week.
