Pick 6

The amount of sheer manpower it would take to do it precludes it from happening. Constitutionality and back lash aside, it would be impossible to "round them up send them home" by going door to door.

They can't keep Venezuelan gangs from taking over apartment buildings or BLM protesters from burning out businesses. Zero percent chance they're able to go door to door and demand papers to see who is here illegally.

It'll be much more random and opportunistic. Illegals getting popped for crimes are probably screwed, but the vast majority will continue to fly under the radar.
MAGA is going to be disappointed.

This is a good idea

According to the article below, 98 million job postings "require" a college degree.

While that requirement may be flexible, there are two issues. One, large corporations often use software gatekeepers. Code likes black and white, see a degree and advance. Don't see it, stop.

But beyond that, many decision-makers don't want to take chances. It is very easy to say to oneself, "if I stick to the requirements, I can't be blamed if the person is a total loser."

So, while I am sure it is lessening in many places, I don't think it is nearly ubiquitous. Of course, with me nearing retirement, the degree requirement would go away. I am sure employers nationwide have been waiting for me to leave the workforce.
I can believe it with large corporations. They also move very slowly.

And, by doing so, they're missing out on some great young talent that can be molded to your specifications and groomed for bigger roles.

Pick 6

I’m not certain it’ll actually happen on that level either. Trump snd his proxies are certainly talking about it.

Just curious - what more elegant measures do you think the Trump administration could/would use for mass deportation of millions of people.
Penalties for companies that hire illegals would create some voluntary outmigration. Also you could conceivably incentivize business to report applicants who can’t demonstrate proof of citizenship or legal status. Nice carrot and stick.

Starting with arrest records for unlawful residents could help locate some that need to be deported immediately. As well as penalizing sanctuary jurisdictions who violate federal law by withholding federal funds. It also amazing what you can do with voter rolls and cross referencing Social Security data to identify unlawful residents and their last known address.

There of course will be some that disappear into the dark corners of society and be hard to identify. But sending people door to door is not an efficient use of resources.

MSU

MSU is likely going to be a bit desperate coming out. They picked another fight at UM at the end of the game.

The MSU guy in the game ending fight, opposite UM’s Loveland, was former Hoosier from last year, Anthony Jones. He was at IU only last season after coming from Oregon. Started some games last year for IU.

I believe both were at fault.

Pick 6

I really don’t see how a legal resident could accidentally be deported. That is super easy to verify on the federal level.

There are more elegant measures for identifying unlawful residents than sending gestapo door to door. That is scaremongering and won’t happen.

The mass deportation on the scale you’re worried about won’t happen either. But I like that they’re anchoring to that position.

Purdue Loses Exhibition

Ass whooping is what happened to IU the last 3 seasons, last games of those 3 seasons IU lost bye an average of 24 butt smackers! In the last 10 years IU has only showed up 4 times in the tournament, Purdue was 9 out of 10. It is really hard to lose in the NCAA tournament when your not invited! Your the definition of Ass beating. And with that fairy land schedule of all those mid majors you have scheduled this year at HOME, you might be ripe for a beaten.
Does Woody lead the country in double digit beatens for power 5 teams? IU has something like over twenty since he showed up.
Passing a literacy test should be a requirement before posting privileges are granted.

Harris vs. Trump 2024

It's very simple. Keep the polls open for 12 hours on the 2 weekends before the election and obviously open on election day. That's 5 days to vote in person and most people are off weekends and employers have to let you off on election day to vote. But Dems don't want secure elections. They want shenanigans.
You obviously would love that system, but there are 8 states where universal vote by mail is the state law. And there is no way in Hell any of those states are going to vote for or be in favor of your proposal. People are not going to give up the convenience of returning a ballot that was mailed to you by mail or dropping it in a drop box to soothe your paranoid sensibilities...

Members of both parties get elected in each of those states, inclding Utah where it wouldn't have become law without the backing of the LDS church. The message those states would send your way (to borrow from the Haris/Walz campaign)- "We're not going back"...

Looking For Crowd Song?

I THINK it's already "taken." To the extent that matters. I found this video of PSU doing it. Not sure if that's who I was thinking of though.

That's a quality song though for the purpose.

I've almost given up on the search though. It looks like they've settled on "We Will Rock You." I appreciate the pun, the ease, and how well known it is. But it screams elementary school basketball to me. And very dated as far when it was something that was played a lot at stadiums. Similarly, they've been playing "Rock And Roll Part II," I guess someone got their hands on an old Jock Jams CD.

They play at the end of wins, but at this point, I'd be open to "All I do is Win" by DJ Khaled playing between the 3rd & 4th. At least it's a nod to CCC, has a hand motion everyone (particularly the students) can do, has a catchy beat. Not my favorite/preferred song by any stretch, but it's something I guess.

Back to your suggestion though, I like where your heads at. It doesn't HAVE to be hip-hop or rock or even something remotely new. OSU does "Hang on Sloopy," your suggestion, "Dixieland Delight" at Bama. It just has to be something that is fun to sing a long to.
One thing all these songs share is a packed stadium.

More likely an ass beating by a double digit seed mid major occurs.

This is a good idea

Nonetheless, the private sector requires them much too often for no good reason.
100000000%

And 9/10 times I'd rather have teh non college grad with 5 years experience working up from a call center or something. more invested in the company. Have base understanding of systems and product interactions. And, most importantly, the ability to have measured work ethic.

Lots of smart people in the world with no college degree.

This is a good idea

Probably.

But the private sector went this way a long time ago. As somebody who employs a fair number of people, I can tell you point blank that college degrees are among the most overrated credentials a person can have (at least to us)

They're necessary for many professions (pharmacy, law, medicine, engineering, some STEM fields, etc.). But for many, they aren't. There are going to be public sector jobs (like in the private sector) where these are necessary. But, for most jobs, they are not. They're a waste of money and time.
