Scott Dolson Signed a Three Year Contract in May 2024

Interesting IU didn't announce this. That's weak. It took a records request to get the info. See link below.

IndyStar Article

When this contract was signed in May there were obviously no actual improved results (as in wins) in the two major sports. However, it appears the Cig hire, NIL boost that helped our '24 Bball class and hopefully future classes, and general fundraising results were enough. I can only guess.

This contract is an ~80% raise and brings Scott's comp more in line with similar schools in the B1G. That's not unreasonable.

Personally, I think Scott is okay and now a net positive. He came in with no experience outside of IU (imo an outside hire would have made more sense) and probably made some mistakes early. Aside from that he's done a good job setting up our very important NIL structure/collectives, FB is trending up and he likely deserves most of the credit there, and he has always been a good fundraiser. On the BBall side, it's so political I don't know what's going on, except that it's too political.

Just my opinion, others may see it differently and that's fine. Interesting piece of news though.

Trump should not visit Springfield, Ohio

For the better part of the last week or so, Trump has been promising to visit Springfield, Ohio.

This is a monumentally bad idea.

Both the Republican governor of Ohio and mayor of Springfield have asked him not to come. Springfield’s resources are already overburdened and they’ve been relying on state high patrol to fill in gaps for every day police work. Couple that with recent failings of his secret service detail and it’s a recipe for one giant shit show. I really hope he stays away.

On top of all those concerns, Ohio isn’t a battleground state. His campaign could be better served by spending time elsewhere.

That said, as dumb and ill advised it is to go there, I fully expect him to do it. If, God forbid, something crazy happens when he’s there it won’t be because of some far left secret plan. He and his campaign fully know what the situation is.

Still Smokin' 🚬

If this were hockey the first period would be over. But alas this is football not hockey. (Indiana Club Hockey National Champs!)

The Hoosiers are 4-0. The tests will get more difficult from here but the Hoosiers appear to be a team that is up to the challenge. I did a quick look at the stats and here is what I found (national ranking):

No. 3 Turnover Margin
No. 5 Scoring Offense
No. 5 Rush Offense
No. 7 Scoring Defense
No. 9 Rush Defense
No. 10 Pass Defense
No. 15 FPI
No. 23 Pass Offense
No. 27 AP Poll
No. 27 Coaches' Poll

IU is first in the B1G in points scored and second in fewest points allowed.

Rourke No. 4 completion percentage, No. 7 Passing Efficiency, No. 20 Passing TDs, No. 25 Passing yards

Lawton Rushing TDs No. 16

Fisher Total Tackles No. 22
