Indiana is down to one roster spot - realistically - and that all revolves around All-Big Ten forward Trayce Jackson-Davis.

The NBA Combine is set for May 16-22 and the full list of invitees should be going out in the next few days.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if he didn't get an invite -- mainly because teams already know who is he. They know his overall skill set and honestly, I don't know how well he would test.

The biggest stock booster isn't the combine for him, it's the individual team workouts that also take place over the next few weeks.

That will tell him and show teams a lot more about his ability than the combine.

He has until June 1 to announce if he will return to Indiana or not.

Moving to the other player in contention for the final roster spot -- Wichita State transfer wing Dexter Dennis announced a top-6 of Indiana, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Vanderbilt and Clemson earlier this week.

He has taken two official visits to Indiana and Clemson.

Following his visit to Indiana, there was a lot of talk about a potential commitment. That obviously hasn't happened and he has pumped the breaks on his overall recruitment. Wichita State made a big run using the NIL route to try and retain him.

Once source told me this week: 'The Dexter Dennis to Indy talk got super hot but has gone quiet now"

It's kinda a wait and see mode right now for Indiana. It isn't interested in anyone else in the transfer portal at the moment. Things can change but at the moment Dennis is the only guy they are looking at in the portal.

A new 2023 offer that went out this week was to four-star forward TJ Power. Power plays for BABC on the Nike EYBL circuit and Worcester Academy (MA) for high school.

Power is ranked the No. 65 overall player in the Rivals150 class of 2023 rankings.

Power averaged 18.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game during the second live period in Indianapolis. He also shot 40 percent (8-of-20) from three. This past season he averaged 13.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists helping lead Worcester to a 23-7 record and Class AA state title.

The 6-foot-7 forward is a name to keep an eye on for Indiana. He wants to take visits in June and Notre Dame, Indiana and Virginia are three that should be getting visits. Boston College is a name to keep tabs on from some of the Northeast programs involved.

Power on what he's looking for in a program: "The two factors are the relationship I have with the coaching staff and players. The high power five level, there are a lot of simailries between facilities and fan bases so the relationships are what I'm going to be leaning on, especially to have coaches behind you and have your back. Also a place I can be challenged and a place that cares about winning and does the most every day to push their players.

Power on play style: 'Play style, somewhere to utilize my versatility and letting me play with a lot of confidence and allow me to space the floor and shoot or drive and kick. Anywhere that is going to utilize big wings, let them shoot and see the floor and also play good defense.'

Some other 2023 names to continue to monitor are four-star forward/wing Coen Carr and three-star guard Freddie Dilione.

Carr has been injured all spring and has yet to play during the AAU season. He also hasn't taken any other visits outside of Indiana.

If Indiana continues to push for Carr, the Hoosiers will be difficult to beat. Some of the additional offers out in the class of 2023 though show they are still open to looking -- which they should.

Freddie Dilione received an offer from Indiana after the second live period. He has a Virginia official visit lined up this weekend.

He told me he still talks with the IU staff consistently. There is no visit lined up but that's not out of the question.

Class of 2024 guard Jonathan Powell from Wildcat Select AAU and Centerville (Oh) took a visit to Indiana on Thursday and received an offer.

He transferred to Centerville recently and will play for Brook Cupps and be teammates of Indiana commit Gabe Cupps next season.

Powell is a tremendous scorer and one that can light it up. He scored 45 points including 9 3s in front of the IU staff in the first live period.

He has offers from Ohio State, Texas A&M, Dayton and Illinois.

Another 2024 guard is Travis Perry. He is visiting Indiana today (Friday).

He is a four-star point guard that plays for Indiana Elite on the AAU circuit and Lyon County (Ky).

Perry is a very productive guard, not only scoring the ball but also facilitating and on the defensive end.

He has offers from Creighton, Western Kentucky, Ole Miss and New Orleans. I wouldn't be shocked to see Indiana get more involved soon.

As for 2025 guys - Indiana is making it known that it is prioritizing Fishers guard Jalen Haralson and Heritage Hills forward Trent Sisley.

Both players play for Indy Heat 16U and have been terrific so far during the first two live periods given they are both playing up a year.

Haralson is averaging 12.9 points per game, 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 46.6 percent (34-of-73) from the field.

Sisley is averaging 11.8 points per game, 4.7 rebounds and is shooting 50.8 percent (31-of-61) from the field and 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from three.

Indiana has visited both a few times this spring at their respective high schools.

Indiana looks to be adding Arizona to its non-conference slate for this upcoming season. That game is scheduled to be played in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.

That game comes just one week prior to Indiana playing at Kansas.

Add in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and likely the Gavitt Games with the Big East and Indiana is putting together a very, very strong non-conference schedule.

Jason Kidd! He was referencing style of play - big pass first point guard, who can score if needed and plays good defense.

Overall it looks like a pretty good report for the FED to continue hiking rates. Also, I assume it's more likely we are not in a recession, which is good news. Slowing wage growth isn't good, but everything else looks solid. Thoughts? Corrections? Drink of choice this weekend?

Based on seat selection after the 1st day - ticket demand is strong. I know 2 people that got worse seats and I pick tomorrow at 8:50 and my seats from last year are already gone (and I select earlier than last year/more pts)

My daughter starts high school next year and I'm thinking of starting a father/daughter book club with other interested families. My thinking was to focus only on books less than 250 pages so the adults would actually read the books. I found this interesting link to a list of books I've never read. Anyone have any opinions on any of these or others that might fit the bill?

Can any of these guys step up and fill that void; perhaps collectively, if not individually...?

Ali Velshi lays it out pretty definitively in this commentary. You're welcome to disagree, but the evidence is pretty strong for his argument. Not only is the link between the Religious Right's overriding anti segregation and anti-abortion stances pretty blatant, but he also points out that Roe vs Wade was not even a very galvanizing ruling for the Right, until probably a 1/2 decade or so later...

The BIG issue for the Right from the start was Brown vs Board of Education- rendered in 1954,the year before I was born. Falwell, Liberty U, Bork... he lays out all the damning evidence that Segregation was the real boogeyman, and it was only when they realized that they were not going to gain traction (and political power) on that issue with any semblance of a majority of the population that they fell into line and chose abortion as their political sword. Obviously, the "moral majority"...not particularly moral, and never really close to a majority, has never really believed in individual freedom for everyone...

At first glance I think he would hate it. However, I seem to recall he was not in favor of the 3 point shot but then he adjusted his style of play to get the ball to Alford in the open and won a National championship
