In response to a significant increase in the demand for IU Women’s Basketball reserved season tickets for the 2024-25 season, IU Athletics is expanding the reserved seating section for the upcoming season.

The new Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall seating configuration will feature the entire main level (both east and west sides) being utilized for reserved season ticket holders. Last year, Rows 1-31 of the main level were set aside for reserved season ticket holders. General admission seating, meanwhile, will consist of the court-level bleachers and the balcony. On gamedays, once the court-level GA section is full, GA ticket holders will be directed to the balcony.

In consideration of this change, individuals who have already purchased General Admission season tickets have the option to call the IU Ticket Office (812-855-4006) and upgrade to reserved season tickets. Those requests must be completed by June 30. Seat locations for reserved season ticket holders will be determined based on IU’s Priority Point system in July.

Both Reserved and GA season tickets for the 2024-25 IU Women’s Basketball season remain on sale. Reserved season tickets can be purchased until June 30, while GA season tickets will remain on sale until the start of the season. Adult reserved season tickets are $112, while reserved senior season tickets (65+) and youth season tickets (18-and-under) are $48. IU faculty and staff can purchase reserved season tickets for $80. Adult general admission season tickets are $96, while general admission youth and senior tickets are $48.

IU Women’s Basketball is coming off a record-setting season for attendance in 2023-24. Coach Teri Moren’s team averaged 10,336 fans during its 17 home games, and in doing so became just the fifth Big Ten Women’s Basketball team to average 10,000-plus during a single season. IU went a perfect 17-0 at home last season while eclipsing the 20-win barrier for the ninth straight year and earning a trip to its third Sweet 16 in the last four years.

So the Supreme Court has struck down a Portage, IN bribery conviction of the mayor. The defendant's team had argued he received a gratuity, not a bribe. That seems an incredibly fine hair to split. How on earth could anyone know the difference between a gratuity and a bribe? Is anything paid after the fact now legal?

He's for raising tariffs on China and all other trading partners — a move that Moody’s Analytics predicted would kill jobs and worsen inflation.

Moody’s Analytics cautioned that if Republicans sweep into power in November, a toxic mix of higher tariffs, fewer immigrants and tax cut-fueled stimulus would cause inflation to reaccelerate, unemployment to climb above 5% and the US economy to stumble into a recession.

By contrast, Moody’s found that if Biden wins and there is a divided Congress, the Fed will start cutting interest rates, inflation will go back to normal and the US economy will avoid a recession.

I know this is the BB forum but I just wanted to acknowledge the Florida Panthers Cup victory last night. My wife who never cared for hockey ever became a fan of the Panthers recently. She went to 6 playoff games including game 5 and last nights Cup win. Nearly a two hour drive each way to the arena from our home on the west coast of the state. She is definitely hooked.
I lived in Detroit for 5 years so I had no choice but to become a Wings fan. Also, it was good for business. But I have to admit, I’ve become a Panthers fan as well. I’m sure
there aren’t a lot of hockey fans on here but just wanted to give a shout out. It was a great series. And you gotta love the rats on the ice. Reminds me of the octopi at Wings games. Difference is the octopi were alive at one time. The rats are fake. Nothing like hockey fans.

If it's been covered on here, I haven't seen it.

While I don't watch as much college basketball as I used to, I'm an NBA Draft nerd (among other nerdisms), and after the NBA lottery is conducted, I absorb a ton of content about it. As they have gotten deeper into the weeds of it, including some breakdowns of mid-2nd round guys and lower, multiple podcasts have noted last year TJD would've gone much higher, but he was unwilling to sign a two-way contract with the interested club.

A two-way contract is a contract that pays a player for his time in the G League at G League scale, but your games in the NBA are paid at the NBA scale.

Typically there are prospects who are better off not getting drafted in the 2nd round because there is no guarantee. It's better to work with a club who could need or want to fill that position. Sometimes it's a team that doesn't have a 2nd round pick or a team that just isn't ready to pick you when they do. It does give the player some control.

The context has mostly been the recent news that Bronny would not be signing a two-way, and the comparison being made to that disposition is to TJD.

Of course the idea of guaranteed contracts aren't always just about how talented a player is. It's about roster spots and/or how it impacts the cap. If a club signed TJD to a contract but cut him, not only would they still have to pay him but his contract would remain on their cap until it expired.

So this was TJD betting on himself, and as it played out, it was also Golden State believing in him. It's going to pay off for both parties.

Not a real fan of those two, but you have to listen to the latest podcast. Start around the 21 minute mark. Very interesting and in some respects, conformational. I do not know how to link it on here. But it’s well worth the listen! Spoiler alert Dane fife is called Dan Fife! 😳
