There are more that one CPI indexes. Do you know which one they use? I know(or think there is) there is one without food and energy which doesn't make sense to me since those are two essential things.Keep your noses to the grindstone.
Social Security Checks To Get Biggest Cost-Of-Living Boost In 4 Decades
Millions will see a 5.9% increase in their Social Security checks starting next year.www.huffpost.com
You ever try GoodRx or Amazon Pharmacy. You can get things a lot cheaper there.... sometimes. Look at variation in prices at Amazon for a 90 day supply of a medicine I take..Oh really ? And what "free socialist stuff" are they not "sucking off" that others are ? My wife has a prescription that costs $500 a month. When she hits 65 and is medicare-eligible, that same prescription will cost less than $100 a month. Granted, that's not "free", but it's a hell of a discount don't you think ?
Yes, and I tell them they're drawing welfare.Know any farmers?
Here is exactly what you said. No mention of Fiat. Moron."You know Chrysler ..."
Fiat Chrysler (which is what I said, moron) is, those in the know/who know an adjustable from a spark plug, know they are also known as Mopar fans. Mopar is the parts division. I said GM (if not bailed out) would lose market share. That is/was a given, & Chrysler would go under, that too is/was a given.
You need to revisit that post, & this time, put down the Dark Eyes, increase the light, & put your glasses on straight this time, Goober.
Btw, Daimler (a German auto maker) was the first foreign
auto maker to purchase Chrysler, next Fiat (Italian) bought them. Fiat Chrysler is the new/current co. now, Goober.
:O
Sorry. Just seeing this. You want my address? Why? Are you going to come visit me? Do you want to threaten me? Damn, no wonder your wife left you. Get a life Randy.I didn’t criticize Mark. On the other hand Joe can go to hell. From day one the only responses to me were insults. I took it a long time. No more. If he had any balls he would identify himself if he wants to throw around insults. I’ve given him my address more than once. That damn business I lost kept me in the office till 9 again tonight.
Sorry. Just seeing this. You want my address? Why? Are you going to come visit me? Do you want to threaten me? Damn, no wonder your wife left you. Get a life Randy.
Lol what a troll you are.Sorry. Just seeing this. You want my address? Why? Are you going to come visit me? Do you want to threaten me? Damn, no wonder your wife left you. Get a life Randy.
@stollcpa. He's not giving you an address. He's like a non profit art nerd begging for donations to stay afloat hoping the far left subsidizes his life. A perfect combo of troll, parasite and pussy. He only shows up here to post replies when he's adequately triggered. Never content. Bc he's incapable. He's a moron.Sorry. Just seeing this. You want my address? Why? Are you going to come visit me? I wished to hell you were right about my wife. If she threw me out I wouldn’t have to deal a year of delays for mediation and final hearing. Last time I talked to her she told me to get my ass home.Sorry. Just seeing this. You want my address? Why? Are you going to come visit me? Do you want to threaten me? Damn, no wonder your wife left you. Get a life Randy.
Get your life under control Randy. It’s getting embarrassing.I wished to hell you were right about my wife. If she threw me out I wouldn’t have to deal a year of delays for mediation and final hearing. Last time I talked to her she told me to get my ass home.
Losing my business really has me stressed.
As for threatening you, I haven’t done any such thing. You’re just a pussy sitting behind your keyboard insulting people. I thought maybe you’re proud of yourself and could identify.
Please write another 1,000 post this week McM. What a loser.@stollcpa. He's not giving you an address. Check my NASCAR thread I started last week. I used the (Fiat) Chrysler term there. On this thread, I took it for granted everyone equated Chrysler, who's cars are STILL 'made in America', with American made cars, since they are still made in America. Here is exactly what you said. No mention of Fiat. Moron.
"I originally cursed the public/taxpayer auto bailout of GM & Chrysler in 2008/09. Now, I believe it saved Chrysler, helped GM with market share then, & going forward/now. Now, all in all, it was a good piece of socialism/group insurance, for the masses & every day Americans, as well as auto makers & their employees."
And it's not even Fiat Chrysler any more, Cletus. It's Stellantis - a merger of FCA with Group PSA. (Peugeot and Citroen).
God, you're stupid.
You're so ****ing stupid - who reminds you to breathe?Check my NASCAR thread I started last week. I used the (Fiat) Chrysler term there. My point remains, as I previously stated, both GM & Chrysler got huge gov. bailout loans/taxpayer help. Both are paying those loans off too.
Btw, Chrysler products (Dodge, Ram, Chrysler & Jeep) are STILL 'made in America'. :O
:O
One mediocre punch. Who is this guy, George Foreman?
Btw, who won the 2020 US presidential election? You're so ****ing stupid - who reminds you to breathe?
The benefit increase was 5.9% of whatever you were getting, but the Medicare increase of 14.5% was a flat rate for everyone—- if someone is getting a bigger check each month, then they can absorb the Medicare increase better than if they were getting a smaller monthly amount….For some, they will be winding up with more each month; for some, less…Keep your noses to the grindstone.

My SS payment is middling at best and I'm coming out ahead by a nice little chunk. The benefit increase was 5.9% of whatever you were getting, but the Medicare increase of 14.5% was a flat rate for everyone—- if someone is getting a bigger check each month, then they can absorb the Medicare increase better than if they were getting a smaller monthly amount….For some, they will be winding up with more each month; for some, less…
Like all the de facto tax increases caused by inflation, it hurts the poor the most.
But many people are only getting a few hundred bucks a month, so a $22 rise in monthly Medicare is more than the 5.9% COL raise....OTOH-- SS has a limit to the changes so no one should be getting less than their previous monthly amounts. My SS payment is middling at best and I'm coming out ahead by a nice little chunk.
Keep grinding kids, keep grinding.
Edit to add: Wife gets a bare minimum due to her short working period and minimal contributions, and she's getting a slight raise as well. So I'm not convinced many if any are going to end up with a net loss.
You're overpaid.Got a raise from the parts people too. I'm almost up to McDonald's level wages there.
That sounds like something they would pass. Someone who has made millions (like a lot of pro athletes and others) but blew all of it would get the full amount but the person who scrapped and saved and never made over $60,000/year but now has a net worth of 1 million would get their benefits reduced.I've heard talk of continuing the SS payments (basically about) like they are now, but make the pay outs depend on a need for income basis. Say you retire, & your net worth is above $400, 000, they may decrease the amount of SS/benefits you get, depending on your financial status. I could see something like that passing congress, easier than raising the age limit requirement.
We've paid dearly for what we get and you're gonna pay even more (depending on your age).
Boomers get all the shit, but it was the Greatest Generation who got theirs while paying very little. We've paid dearly for what we get and you're gonna pay even more (depending on your age).

Cry me a river, bitch. You paid dearly because your generation created a population problem (were too drugged up and selfish to reproduce at high enough levels), has spent a considerable amount of time in power without solving any long-term economic issue (SS, Medicare/Healthcare costs, etc.) and didn't save anything for retirement because you expect to suckle at the government tit for the rest of your miserable lives.
So yea...

I saved all my working career so you aren't talking about me but I agree with you to a certain extent. I grew up in the Appalachia area and knew people exactly like you're talking about. Even 40 years after I left a lot of the same families that were milking the system when I left were still milking the system.

Oh I know.... I've seen charts and tables showing how much savings people have and it's pathetic. I've griped about that all my life. There are too many that if they made $60,000/year they wouldn't save any and if you raised their salary to $200,000/year they still wouldn't save any. I personally know some people that earned more than I did and hear them complaining now because they don't have enough money.I'm going from reports like this:
Baby boomers face retirement crisis — little savings, high health costs and unrealistic expectations
April is National Financial Literacy Month, but this week is National Retirement Planning Week, which means it's time for yet another round of depressing statistics about how unprepared we all are for retirement.www.cnbc.com
In the worst case, it is really bad: 45% of boomers have zero savings for retirement
Listen, I'm a Millennial, so I'll be the first to shit on my generation. And it has plenty of flaws.
And we continue to “help” each generation under the guise of “must help the unfortunate” without asking the hard questions or caring what the answers would beI saved all my working career so you aren't talking about me but I agree with you to a certain extent. I think quite a few companies are now automatically enrolling new employees in their savings plan so the employee has to do something to stop saving.
Companies have been (or should have been) doing that for a while thanks to Richard Thaler.Oh I know.... I've seen charts and tables showing how much savings people have and it's pathetic. What a stupid statement.
I don't know, Mark, I read that first sentence where you say "while paying very little" and can't help but think of my grandparents who lived through the Great Depression and fought in WW II and say "what???"Our (great) grandparents benefited from the big jump in Social Security benefits from the 70s & 80s. They also were able to take advantage of Medicare without having to pay into it throughout their working lives.

But I get what you're driving at.
Except living through the depression, fighting WW2 and Korean War, and establishing the programs you’re talking about, they’ve gotten a free ride all the way. Moochers.Boomers get all the shit, but it was the Greatest Generation who got theirs while paying very little.
