Mac is back!

It is likely I am plugged in more than you & have first hand knowledge of at least one current recruit, & second hand of others through him, but any deductive reasoning can lead to the conclusion that a kid that comes to play for Mike Woodson does not put winning as a top priority, given the fact that he has not proven to win anywhere he has been a coach. As I stated, we are paying more to kids to get them here than what other schools would pay them. I don’t care about paying kids, but overpaying is necessary because this staff stinks.

It’s so aggravating to hear a parent & HS Coach talk about the difference in locker rooms & culture between IU vs PU, MSU, ND, OSU as seen on recruiting visits. Only one was described as chaos, with a bunch of hangers-on, dogs, lack of discipline & over site, etc. But IU is offering more money. This staff & strategy stink, & the sooner they are gone, the better.

Can you show my IU's payroll? Please be specific on who is getting overpaid and let's see the offers IU made versus other teams. If you can't, then you are just talking out of your ass.

Deductive reasoning can also lead to the conclusion that a kid that comes to play for IU has decided that he will contribute to a winning team because he can contribute things that the team did not have last season.

It’s been said before but bears saying again: It is clear that recruits don’t look at things from the same perspective as fans do.

Mgbako, Reneau, and Galloway are gone. We have no recruits. Woodson sucks and needs to be fired.

Mise well plow SSAH and turn it into a parking lot!

Jet posts as if he knows the NIL money each player is getting. I’d like him to share that knowledge. Would be good for us to know, right?

Galloway, Mgbako, Reneau, and Tucker are a good core to start with. Hopefully Cupps improves.
Sure, but hopefully Cupps will only be needed to relieve the portal transfer PG who is good and a very experienced 4th or 5th year player. Woodson needs to bring in experienced and talented guards to guide this team and make his offense work well enough to defend the perimeter and beat some good teams. If he can’t do that, then we’ll have a repeat performance of this past season.

Nice! Malik and Mac should be a very formidable front court next year. Slide Tucker in at the wing and you have the makings of something.

Need a lead guard. A great one. And Woody might save his job.

At least 10.5 million, assuming they spend all of the NIL money, plus assistant coach salaries.
How much is each player getting? How much for MM? How much for Tucker? That would actually be interesting inside information.

Look up G League contracts, $50-75K. If he got a two way deal, and that’s a big huge maybe probably not, he could get something like $100-200K, all depends how involved he is with an NBA team. He's not ready to play with NBA teams.

IU he makes $500K+, maybe much more than that.

Easy choice.
Sure, but I’d like to see actual figures rather than guesses. I’d guess the better players are getting more than G League, but don’t know how much. There are a lot of players in D1 basketball.

The Pacers should get into the NIL game for IU players. Probably PU and Butler too, but IU should be the priority. 😉

Rough couple days huh?
You and your ilk seem to be unable to grasp the idea that a good many of us are still hugely frustrated that we decided to retain Woodson. I happen to think that it's no coincidence that each of Woodson's three season have ended at the hands of complete and total ass kickings.

As such, putting together a nice roster is cool as I would still like us to be competitive, but we all know how the Mike Woodson story ends. We could sign Yogi to play point guard and Oladipo to play the 2 and Woodson would still get his ass handed to him when it's all said and done.

You’re having a rough couple of days aren’t you?

lol I check this site and listen to you. You have about 5 straight off-season national title streak going, I think. You were spouting this craziness last summer...how did that turn out? How about you goobers give it a rest and bring this same fire DURING the season? But go ahead, keep patting yourselves on the back. Let's go hang a banner this weekend!

NIL deals aren’t public, but it’s well known what certain caliber players get.

MM didn’t sign a pro deal so it has to be an estimate. Look up what G League and very fringe two way players get if you want.

Per the quick math the gap is big. Easy decision to get paid more at IU and he improved here last year, so he can improve more next year.

I agree, but a poster implied he knew and if he knows he should share it.

Getting/keeping good players sucks doesn’t it? Hurts you in your bones.

We need better results but the likes of you are a cancer to this program. Never anything positive even when warranted.

That’s great news. Will be interesting to see how much he develops in a second year. He is a legit shooter and threat from outside. Needs to improve defensively. We need to go get a couple bigs, legit PG, and a 2 and a 4. You know, a full team. LOL. If we do nothing else, just please for the love of God get players who are smart and can shoot the rock!

You and your ilk said everyone was leaving. It’d be worse than Crean year 1. You HOPED for it. Begged for it. Now we have a nucleus to build from with spots still to fill and it hurts your ego.

Let's try to remain specific. Nothing you said above applies to myself. So you wasted a post. Kudos.

It's amazing. But you're spending your time whining as if you've somehow accomplished something. As I said, you've done this every year and your teams keep failing so now everyone is supposed to assume THIS year will be different? Now, if we can get a coach we'd be set!!

And don't forget - we OVERPAID per jet. So he should share the offers from all the others schools. Cuz, he's in the know.
How about I apply some logic & deduce that if our budget was in, let’s say even in the top 50 last year, we overpaid. Now, you can certainly make the argument that we don’t know how next year will shake out, but how about we make a wager predicated on where IU finishes relative to their budget. You pick, NET, RPI, polls, whatever. Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is, or you just wanna take some more shots at me?

I’m good with being optimistic when we have players that give us a chance. Years 1-2 weren’t awful. In fact, they were much better than years -1 and -2. This year wasn’t great, but instead of replacing 10 guys on our roster, we’re replacing 1 that contributed (in a huge way). So it’s something to build on. Be optimistic about. You should try it. I don’t love Woody, but y’all treat this man like he’s Archie x Dakich + Lavall Jordan.

I want you to put up or shut up. You said we are overpaying for players and I want to see the proof. How about we wager on if you can prove we are overpaying? I'll take that bet.

Just admit you don't know jack and only said it because you don't like Woody and the direction. Admit you have zero idea what the market is for MM or Tucker and if IU only got them because they were the highest bidder.

Not at all. I'm just realistic with what I see. Most all (non-PU fans who fake being IU fans on here) want IU to be good. It's a matter of whether we can realistically belive that will happen. I would love nothing more than to see IU dominate but we both know the roster as it is today is not where it needs to be. We still have off season work to do beyond the roster build. Do we think Woodson is able to do that? Talent, as we have seen, is just a piece of the puzzle.

So, you do not know what the NIL deals are. You could have just said that.

If you expect domination I think you’ll be disappointed. Neither the talent nor the coaching/system suggests domination. We haven’t dominated anything since the early 90s. Even in most of our championship years we didn’t dominate.
