The Purdue "IU SUCKS" thing at kickoffs all season irritates me because it bring such little brother energy. If anything makes me happy it's that they've had so few opportunities to do it at home this year since the Indiana State opener.

Secondarily, I'm convinced that regardless of what happens in Columbus in two weeks, Cig is going to do his damnedest to hang 80 points on the Boilers at the OOB game.

So here's the plan. Every time they get the ball, every time they're getting ready for one of the many....many.....kickoffs coming their way, we're going to make the stadium do a call & response. East side "Purdue" West side "Sucks." For an entire possession. Hell, if you're feeling froggy, for the entire game when they've got the ball.

"IU sucks," "First down bitch," all of it has to go. It's unbecoming. It's douchey. It ends this year. I want to take their spirit. I want their souls to leave their bodies. I want to see their players cry in shame. I want an entire thread on their forum to be dedicated to how it looks/sounds on TV when the announcers have no choice but to talk about an undefeated IU squad absolutely curb stomping a 1-10 PU team and completely mocking their pick-me rituals.

This is the assignment. Tell your friends.

A funny response would be to change "IU sucks"...and then laugh and point at what will be a very small visitors section.

If that could be coordinated, and pulled off to where it could show up on a video of some sort, it might be the best Troll chant ever.

Overall though, the best response is probably just to continue to ignore them.

How about "IU's Great!" each time we do anything exciting...

I prefer to not acknowledge p u if at all possible...

It is one way to respond.
Another way would be to rise above and ignore.

If we beat Ohio State and Purdue, fans should rush the field. Not because we beat Purdue, but because it would complete a 12-0 regular season.
If that were to happen I do not think you would have to encourage anyone to storm the field. OrKirkwood. Or Nicks.
Are the naked quarries still there? Could be some crazy bastards storming that place.

Nothing will ever silence PU blowhards, we know that. No reason to sink to their stupid levels of pettiness.

Walk in. Curb stomp them to the tune of 60+. Go home. Get ready to play in Indianapolis.

Meanwhile they'll spend their time wishing and hoping that maybe, just maybe, it might finally be their year in BB. 🤣 🤣 🤣

I moved a couple of weeks ago and was helped by a fellow IU fan and another felliw. Their names were Chip and Doug, believe it or not. Anyway, Chip is an IU fan surrounded by Purdue fans in his family. He was saying that an IU football player who transferred to Purdue did not even know we had a rivalry until he went to Purdue. That shows how obsessed the Purdue side is on the rivalry.

Why the heck would it "irritate" you?

Those IU obsessed goat ropers having IU sucks cheers at all their games in all sports and even at their gatherings out at the FF in AZ is delicious. I hope it never ends.

It defines their fanbase perfectly.

I prefer to leave it alone, sit back and smile. They think it makes them look cute and funny but the sad reality of it all is that when you are yelling this, all the while as your own team slumps to 1-10, it makes that fanbase look like even more giant dumbasses than they already are.
Can you imagine how the national audience perceives this?
“What’s that they are chanting? Oh, that’s directed at a team that is on the verge of the CFP? This Purdue team has 1 win? What a bunch of morons.”

I know that if I was watching a game and had no care about either team and heard this, my first thought is that their fanbase is a bunch of complete idiots.

At the beginning of each quarter or every time they are getting ready to punt put the video of Cig saying it at the basketball game. Better yet, after we put an ass kicking to complete the trifecta play the complete video of him saying all three suck.

I like it. That's also why I'm surprised at the tepid response to this. AH blew up & lots of guys got all giddy when CCC did the "Purdue sucks but so do Michigan & Ohio State" thing. I don't see how following the leader on this particular point is taboo.

I wouldn't say it's taboo. CCC has even said he was just trying to stir up some energy on campus and in the fanbase for IUFB. It was more for IU than for anyone else. Of course it went viral, because it is a different energy than what IUFB is accustomed to.

The better thing is to just show up, kick a$$ and chew gum; and the gum bucket has been empty since December of last year.

After thinking about it more, I don't want us to become them, we enjoy it too much that they do it all the time including before their national championship game. I think the punctuation mark at the end completing the sweep of all three would be sufficient. Right before the end of the game and field storming have a scoreboard read "it's Official", play the video followed by a mike drop.

They are nearly as important to us as we are to them. It has always been that way and will never change. The rivalry is driven 75% by them

I think the rivalry changed a little, leaning to hatred, during the RMK, Keady years. I have been an IU fan for many decades but I remember actually liking watching Purdue games in 1969 with Mount and that crew. I agree with your 75% assessment.

I think if Purdue is a true athletic rival in whatever sport, we're doing that sport wrong. That said, they have been better recently even in our flagship sport.

I prefer not to mention them anywhere. But if I'm at a game and something starts from IU fans I'll join.
