Would a win on Saturday and then another one on Tuesday against Illinois…

Both of those guys especially Carlyle have to give IU some quality minutes. This stretch will require some help from Carlyle in particular. Be some foul trouble on the road.
Hatton just needs to play some inside D and Rebound. Carlyle play some perimeter D and rebound. Neither should be shooting anything outside of 2 feet!! Anything other than a put back at the rim, layup or dunk is too far out.

the Team? Yes

the Coach? No
My thoughts too. My perception of our coach will only change with being at least within a game of the B10 title. I've always loved ya Woody, but it's time to put up or shut up.

IU needs to win 2 of the next 3 in my view (IA, IL, OSU) to get in contention for a top tournament seed.

That will require a consistent effort in at least one away arena.

Thus far IU hasn’t won enough games they were supposed to lose (save Penn State?)

Compared to what is needed for National Championship contention … the team hasn’t been getting it done
Choices are Talent, Coaching, and (Talent and Coaching).
But without Malik available as a 6-man, big potential for Ballo to have foul trouble or just ware out. You saw what we looked like when Ballo wasn't on the floor the other night. No interior presence, rebounding or scoring threat. Granted, Malik is not a very good rebounder or defender but he gives us size and really makes up for it with his offensive presence in the post.

Don't forget minnesota who is even worse than Rutgers. Beating the three worst teams in the league at home doesn't mean he has figured anything out. He needs to compete against the top teams in the league. Remember he was picked to finish 2nd.
Yes, thanks for reminding me of our impressive win over that dominant Minnesota juggernaut. Beat Mich. St, Illinois, and Purdue and then I will change my impression of this "team".

I had a conversation with my buddy today and really IU should have already made the decision to move on.

Woody is mid 60s and has proven he doesn’t want to put in the same time as other coaches recruiting and effort wise. There just isn’t a future. Even if we win the rest of our games, this needs to be his last season.

Would be nice if that was made known now, and everyone could get behind the team. There are surely people that don’t know how to cheer right now. Most fans are out on Woodson, but obviously want to win.

For me, go Hoosiers, the rest will figure itself out. I hope Kanaan wakes the F up and woody wins coach of the year. Trains a comin!
I love your passion for IU but couldn’t disagree with your take on recruiting more. I think Woody has it 100% correct. No way would I waste even a minute recruiting someone I wasn’t convinced could help my team right away. I would target 2-4 guys that can do that and hope I get 1 or 2 of them. Then get less risky, more proven guys from the portal. We literally landed an all conference center, a starting pg who has star potential (3 years of eligibility), a starting wing, and another guard who has elite defensive potential if he ever puts it together offensively in a single transfer class and oh btw landed an nba talented freshman who will likely be here 2-3 years and is contributing off the bench now. Why would you ever take the chance on anyone outside of the top 50 again? 75% of the time they are a waste of a roster spot in the Big Ten for 2 years. S

We went and got 4 portal guys who we hoped could contribute right away to our success and got pretty much what we wanted for 3/4 of them. When was the last time we did that with a HS class right away or even in 2 years?

Forget recruiting and giving big NIL to unproven guys. Sure the roster turnover will take some getting used to and could lead to slow starts but all I care about is where we finish anyway. No matter how many great freshman we landed we were likely missing the tournament this year unless Woody did what he did which was land several proven impact players. Look at Rutgers, I never want to be that team with young talent leading again who will never see a jr or sr year at IU.
