Women dominate early voting

It’s going to be a great day!!! Chili. Rain. No school. Excited
Why is there no school? Is the school a polling place?

I remember when I was in public school we'd get these random days off called "Professional Development Days" or "School curriculum days". I always imagined the teachers spent those day-drinking in the school.

I don’t get it. What’s that Ann Selzer clip supposed to represent? She doesn’t say anything at all in that clip.
She doesn't even know what the R and D stand for. I just don't know what to tell you. Everyone has known that poll was coming for weeks. We've been laughing about on X for a while. She's a joke. Basically a female Aloha. Her TDS was enough that she was willing to destroy her career. Iowa won't be remotely close.

That's not a thing. Teachers will do anything for a day off. As if the entire summer and a Christmas & Spring break isn't enough for them.
Don't forget Fall break.
And all those weekends.
And all those hours between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. when they're lounging around doing nothing.

Teachers only work 2/3'rds of the year. So whatever their supposedly meager salaries are, we need to prorate them by 1/2 of what they already make to understand their true compensation.

i think it's harder than we think. my daughter is fing awful. my angel. greatest human on earth. hit puberty and is fcking miserable to be around. ex and i handle her like a tennis ball serving her back and forth. no you take her. no you take her. so one of her teachers is a friend of mine. super close friend. since high school. core crowd. last week i went to pick up my daughter from school early for a dentist's appointment. as i was pulling up i saw this chick outside the school walking. fast. it was my friend. i rolled down the window and "said what the fck are you doing. who's teaching my kid?!" she bust out laughing and goes "i have a full class in my room. a boy is sitting in my chair spinning it. another boy had a wad of gum jammed into his hair from another kid. and i had to get out before i hit one of em" LOL. I cannot imagine being in a school with hundreds of my daughter for 8 hours a day. shit is not for the faint of heart

I just don’t trust polling. I think we shot ourselves in the foot on a few things. Most importantly abortion. That’s far more important in 2024 than I would have guessed. Harris being a moron and choosing a creepy woke cuck as vp helped but not nearly enough. Then throw in this week’s stupidity from trump and to anyone on the fence or disinterested he’s just exhausting. Guy didn’t learn a thing

So I’m pessimistic. But again. It’s a fun day. IU football vs Michigan in the biggest iu fball game of my lifetime. I scored on a pretty nice volley this am getting higher than I could have imagined. And THE PROBLEM CHILD is on the coming soon for Netflix. All good in the hood regardless. Tho I truly want Harris to lose. For pocketbook reasons. Education reasons. Safety reasons. Etc.
I think the Harris term will be defined more by how she got into office rather than what she accomplishes. IOW, she got the job by beating quite possibly the worst candidate ever nominated by a major party. Not because of her qualifications for the job.

Now, I’m open to the idea that I could be wrong and Kamala will end up being a really good president, but I just don’t see it.

She has a strong track record and you’ve got nothing. Do you and your Trumpster Twitter Twits actually laugh together on Twitter? I can’t get the vision of a bunch of cackling dunces out of my head. One of you is Beavis and another is Butthead, right?

She obviously knows what R and D stand for. Your Twitter Twits are playing you for the fool you are.

I do think Harris ends up winning but I still think it’s close. I don’t see a landslide like Bowl does.

I could be wrong, of course.
I said the Iowa poll is ominous for the fat man and the election may “may turn out to be not close in the EC.” That’s hardly predicting a landslide. What is your problem?

Could be? lol…I’m just kidding. The only outcome that would surprise me is Harris winning by a larger margin than Biden. Trump winning the popular vote wouldn’t be that surprising to me because of inflation and migration.

Yet Japanese schoolchildren attend with a church-like obedience. Same with American children in the 50's. This is not a problem without a solution.

parents are mia. parents are too much. parents are freakshows. but yes it does seem like things need to change. my teacher buddy like all of us blame much of it on phones. kids aren't great at interacting. public speaking etc. in third grade i could stand before 500 people in church and read like old bill clinton in his prime. my daughter in 8th grade is a choppy mess. and i've seen enough presentations from her crew. they all are. i don't know. lots to unpack as to why that's above my pay grade. hopefully brad stevens doesn't see this thread. he'll challenge cosmic for lengthy follow ups

But of course they have smart phones in Japan. I'm of the opinion that students should not be allowed to bring cell phones to school. I think we've disagreed on this in the past. At the very least they should be checked in before the start of every class.

My bad. I guess I read that wrong.

I know you said before that Kamala would win by a bigger margin than Joe did. That would be a landslide. I guess you’ve changed your mind on that?

You may have the biggest stick up your ass I’ve ever seen.

Community Notes. 😄

Trump can hardly climb his fat a$$ in a truck, can't change a tire, jump a dead battery, or even wire a fan. He'd literally refuse to eat food or drink from a cup at the house of an average blue collar house. He'd be repulsed by their living conditions. But they still see him as one of them. Now that is next level stupid.

Both of my kids schools take away their phones if they aren't in their locker during class time.

I'm finding it hard to draw any conclusions about the race from comparing early voting numbers between 2020 and now. 2020 was an outlier -- there's no way that would be indicative of a trend or propensity of any group to vote a certain way or vote or not. Not to mention how Trump's rhetoric in 2020 suppressed GOP early voting.
Mail in ballot counts are down in every state from 2020 to 2024. In the all mail elections (actually you do have the option to vote on election a limited number of sites) states of OR, CO and WA ballot returns are also down. So those states like NV and CA that have either at or above 50% are also down in ballot returns by mail. I am getting the idea that the glow of using mail in ballots is fading. I do note that the mail in ballot option provided the Ds with a huge turnout boost in 2020 and those voters provided the biggest margins for the Ds in the states that separated the numbers.

There is no doubt, look at the turnout numbers among certain groups of voters in CO/WA/OR, that putting a mail in ballot in the hand of voters helps the Ds by generating turnout in categories of voters that favor them. I think it’s a two step dance as to why ballot numbers are down. 1st it appears that those voters are less interested in voting this year. The second step and this applies to mostly voters outside of the mail states is that the effort it takes to vote by mail is only a bit more than the effort to vote early or in person.
