He clearly has made our program more competitive and has us close to being a solid football program. To take the next step our players and coaches have to do better in "winning time". Many times we are own worst enemy in these critical moments.
One thing I have been disappointed in is Wilson's play calling in big spots. I think he tends to panic a bit and gets too cute. Stop overthinking it. I thought yesterday was a perfect example of that. Redding runs for over 200 yards and doesn't even touch the ball in OT. His plays were a bubble/swing pass to Paige, then a reverse to Paige. That was just a poor series all around. We have seen similar issues in closes games this year. Play to your strengths, play to what is working.
The good thing is this team/program is close, its just taking that next big step, which in reality comes down to doing the little things (execution, play calling, etc.) a tad better at key times.
