Why did the Democrats push Harris for President?

Good grief people.

1) They didn't give themselves enough time to properly find anyone else.
2) The small handful who might have been prepared for a last minute run (Newsom and ????) didn't want it.
Didn’t want it may be true. Then my premise would be wrong. And I don’t believe it is. I don’t believe time. They had ample notice of Biden’s condition and I guarantee talks were had. I was calling him mushy peas long before the debate

Don’t slide good governance in. It’s inept governance that gave rise to the problems. That you’re too tribal to see the forest for the trees like the rest of the people with a meager income is on you. There’s a reason for the red wave. They want good governance over woke messaging. The masses not the minority. Workers care about kitchen table issues. Paying bills. Feeding kids. Sadly you don’t care about their station

I notice you didn't address character. As for good governance, I give you Matt Gaetz.

And you refuse to answer why. Remember a sitting vp with a historically low approval with zero accomplishments during her tenure. A vp that was discussed as replaceable if Biden runs again.

I told you the why
You told me the wrong why. I told you the right why.

I get that Shapiro makes you tingle, but the Democratic Party wasn't going to pass over the sitting VP.

No I told you the right why. Your why contravenes everything the party has claimed to stand for the last 4 years

might very well be true

that many of us were opposed to a vapid blinkard who only knows race-baiting and was chosen not bc of merit but bc of her race and gender?
I was referring to the incels, closet nazis, and dipshits who believe anything on their Facebook/X feed and/or need a sense of illegitimate belonging. Cult stuff too.

Also a weak/strong or masculine/feminine element too. People will believe anything to feel a certain way or to be part of the group.

Re: Good governance - Are you expecting better from Trump and his nepo-loyalists picks? The Repub party is maga+ now.

Expecting? More hoping for something similar to his first term. Mandate is never a good word. It’s tantamount to transformative….

My why aligns perfectly with what you erroneously claim to be everything the party stood for the last four years. That's gravy, but it isn't what drove the decision. Goat nailed it pretty well.

What I erroneously claimed the party stood for lmao. Shocker that you’re totally lost in California.

Defund/bail projects/soros stupidity
Open borders
Cradle to grave benefirs
Climate zealotry
Absurd woke shit.

Gtfo. You don’t play identity race baiting politics then pass over a black female.

You know hoos how consistently clueless you are in your history of posts is exactly why there was a red wave. You. Do. Not. Get. It.

And you have learned nothing

Of course Trump will govern better. It’s not difficult to do a better job than Biden. All Biden had to do was not helicopter money from the sky, tone down the woke shit, and allow in only 2 million illegals instead of 10 million….aka be semi normal. Trump will do all of those things, plus cut taxes, regulations, and end the war in Ukraine.

It wouldn't have been possible for them to really start preparing an alternate candidate until after Biden dropped out. Again, Newsom is probably the only person who had the infrastructure and money to even tease at it, and he probably couldn't have even done it. You're criticizing Biden for not dropping out earlier, which is fair, and the Dems for not forcing him out/voting for someone else in the primary, which is also fair, but once it shook out the way it did, Harris was the only feasible choice.

Always can tell when I'm on the right track when you start going with "lost in California". Yeah, you've got it so totally figured out in Missouri. 🤣

So totally not lost that you had to respond twice. ;)

The Biden-Harris campaign bragged about the huge campaign cash haul from "grassroots donors"....who allegedly gave $millions and $millions to Biden-Harris...
When the demented Biden was benched by the kingmakers, why not Shapiro, or Newsome, or one of the others who received primary support?
The reason is clear. The alleged "grassroots", who may have donated $5, $10, $20 were victims of a nefarious scheme by 'ActBlue' to launder tens of $millions of illicit contributions by falsifying reports to show that these donors gave hundreds or thousands through 'Act Blue' ...
A number of AGs have ongoing investigations, contacting these donors, who had no knowledge of these amounts.....but why Harris?
Any other candidates could not use these funds. Federal election law requires the funds be refunded..in this case to donors who had not given them.
The IRS," Did you declare these funds? Do you have unreported income? Are you a tax cheat?"
It was a scam to protect criminal election scams. Walz was a throwaway...
Anything to protect the criminal acts by the Left.
Anything... to include attempted murder...
I live for the accountability. ..
Because she’s a playa. She will do whatever she’s told, just like Joe.

All of this could have happened long before. And money was never going to be an issue.

But it didn't. Biden ran for reelection, and the voters selected him in the primary, so the party was stuck. By the time he dropped out, Harris was the only choice. The question was why did the Democrats push Harris. The answer is because they had no choice.

Oh I’m sober. I stay on the merits. But you go personal bc you’re too stupid to debate. You’re also too stupid to recognize why the country repudiated people like you
You're the guy who brought your day with your kids to the Cooler. I just referred to it.

I merely responded to you trying to make it about me instead of the merits. Sorry that you don't like to reap what you sow, but that's a you problem.

Lmao I was talking politics you go personal with kids. It’s a feature of yours when you’re incapable of staying on the topic bc you’ve got a BB gun for a weapon.

You’re the dipshit claiming Harris was a good candidate. Anyone with an ounce of common sense outside of the sphere of your moronic woke bullshit could see she was awful. You think it a coincidence the country went so red? Or maybe you’re just clueless? In a woke echo chamber surrounded by people as dumb as you

It's so funny that you are somehow deluded that you don't go personal.

I've been locked out of additional posting in this thread by someone, so not able to engage with you any further, but I deleted the reference to the story you brought to the site about your morning because I can see that you're super sensitive about it.

You're unable to stay on the topic of why Harris became the candidate when Biden dropped out, so I'll just return to saying that you're wrong.

They had one:

Just listened to that whole interview. The only candidate on either ticket who could speak that knowledgeably about politics, that eloquently, and that intelligently, is Vance.

Harris, Biden, Trump, and Walz are not in the same league.

Again, blame the voters for not picking him, but once it was all said and done, Harris was the only one standing.
I thought we were talking about feasibility? Was Phillips not feasible?

Re voters, I'm pretty sure more Democratic primary voters voted for Phillips than Harris. In fact, he actually won an elector at the convention. Way to go Nebraska!

Now, if he had run, he would have been a complete no-name unknown. But he could have separated from the Biden admin. and actually speaks intelligently, could go on an interview blitz, and had a shot at getting a Rogan endorsement, etc. Plus, he's not a zealot or deranged about MAGA, and at least has a state biz school on his resume, while also attending Brown.

Basically, that guy should be what the Dems aspire to.

I don't think Phillips was feasible, no. But even if he was feasible to begin with, once Biden won, and by the time Biden dropped out, he no longer was. That's really what we are talking about. The question is why did they get behind Harris. The answer is because when it happened it was too late to do anything else.

Running against an incumbent President is not a popular thing to do, if your goal is to be popular within said party.

I think you're just assuming your conclusion. Biden dropped out before the convention. Phillips had an elector at the convention. It was entirely feasible for the Dems to go to the convention and select the only guy still around who challenged Biden and told the truth about his ability to even do the job while Harris lied about it.

Listen to that interview. Phillips said that when he ran, a majority of his party in Congress agreed that Biden was too old, was in decline, and couldn't do the job for 5 years. (You can start at 4:36). I believe him. This wasn't just on Biden and it wasn't because everyone found out too late about Biden's decline--they knew and rolled the dice.
