Andy Beshear on Vance

We’re all sinners.

True.
Fortunately, though, far fewer of us are wholly unprincipled (per his sister), racist (per his niece and nephew), rapists (per a judge), con men, thieves and rip-off artists (e.g. Trump University, the Trump Foundation and the Trump Organization) and felons.

I doubt Trump believes in God. In his mind, how could anyone or anything possibly be greater than he?
I don’t think Joe, Don, or Kamala are legit Christians beyond what they act like for political reasons.

I take exception to the idea that x isn’t really a Christian if he or she votes for y.

I saw portions of it. Jokes that fell flat. Awkward pauses. Frequent monotone delivery. Wonder if Trump has buyer's remorse
Then there’s Shapiro, governor of a battleground state:
Shapiro signed his second state budget this month and for the second straight year failed to keep his signature promise to enact scholarships for low income students in failing schools. 87% of black families in Pennsylvania supported and expected this. The guy has shown almost no ability to get anything done and unable to even work with fellow democrats in the legislature. He’s one of 10 governors who face a legislature controlled in part by the other party and all other 9 have all signed more laws through bipartisan efforts since 2023 than Shapiro.

I like Beshear but I’m not sure he helps the ticket significantly. Shapiro could help deliver PA. However, given the Gaza situation and the continuing fallout, might he end up costing KH in Michigan and/or elsewhere? I don’t think anyone can predict how an all-female ticket would play, so I don’t think Whitmer will be picked.

I like Kelly. He’d cost the Dems a seat in the Senate, though, which might make a governor a preferred pick. Hobbs would replace Kelly with another Dem but there would be no guarantees in the special election that follows.
You’re an idiot. That’s why you like Beshear. I live in KY but I’m from Indiana and can’t stand that jackass. The only reason he’s in office is because of stupid ass teachers union and their corrupt bullshit.

An interesting euphemism for swath of ant-semites that make up our voting base.

This is how dumb leftist moron are? You want to talk about the right but let’s talk how the Dems talk Democracy but then don’t even vote on their nominee. They just stick in some stupid ass dumb bitch that was horrible as a DA, AG and VP. The only way she made it this far is by sleeping with anyone to advance her career. I bet the whore slept with HB so he would get daddy to drop out and let President whore get the nominee. She’s a dumb bitch that think anyone in the United States should get health care even if you’re an illegal and receive support. Yeah let’s take care of illegals when we have military veterans sleeping on streets and other citizens struggling with hunger and homelessness. She’s an idiot and anyone that votes for this Marxist, radical left bitch is clueless.

After the Pence debacle on Jan 6, Trump just needed to make sure he had a yes man as vp for round 2. Who better for the job than someone without a spine. Trump is Hitler one day, but Lincoln the next. Wonder what JD's opinion will be tomorrow? Whatever Trump tells him I am sure.
There is almost no way this ends well for Vance. If Trump loses in November Vance is toast. He can’t just flip on him again, which is what he’d have to do to continue his political career. He certainly won’t be able to defend him as Trump’s criminal trials progress.

And if Trump wins, how likely is it that Trump doesn’t eventually throw him under the bus? Look at all the people from his first administration who hate him and say he’s unfit for office.

I suppose the only thing left for him will be to write another book about the shitshow.

I prefer Kelly. Retired Navy O6 and astronaut with some leadership experience, and a conservative leaning Democrat. He adds to the ticket.

Trump loses and the Trump stank will end Vance’s political career. He’d be toast.

Look beneath the hood on these supposed moderate democrats (Kelly/Beshear/ Shapiro) and you might not like what you find.

Persona, demeanor and a carefully crafted public image is one thing. What they actually believe? What they’re willing to put pen to paper on? Well that’s quite another…

When your candidates move so far right that everyone else looks progressive lol

That’s not to say there are no moderate Democrats. There is of course Sinema who was forced to change party affiliation and Manchin who was forced into retirement.

Your party can be quite hostile to those who do not toe the line.

Obama-lite ran as a vehement supporter of school choice, when his Republican legislature put a school choice bill on his desk, he vetoed it. Teachers unions got to him.

Fancy boy southern gentry doesn’t do anything. At all. Every important piece of legislation is an override of his veto by a super majority legislature.

Moon man is a down the line progressive who will sometimes talk tough on the border. Of course he was a Nay on HR2. And he wants to take your semi-auto rifle because of the tragic incident with his wife.

Are you referring to all those Dinos?

"Listen, JD Vance is a phony. He's fake. I mean first he says that Donald Trump is like Hitler and now he's acting like he's Lincoln."

"I mean, the problem with JD Vance is he has no conviction, but I guess his running mate has 34."

Spot on.

Vance was a really bad pick. First, he has said far worse things about Trump (describing Trump as "cultural heroin" is a personal favorite) than most anti-Trumpers. More importantly, he does nothing to expand Trump's base, particularly among women which is where Trump needs all the help he can get.

Dems will be smarter with the VP selection and go with someone who, at a minimum, helps them carry a swing state and appeals to independents.

Harris currently has all the enthusiasm and momentum - - - a record-breaking fundraising haul immediately after Biden dropped out, with much of it coming from grassroots donors, 28,000 new volunteers in the first 36 hours following Sunday's announcement, key endorsements, immediate union support, and a party that quickly united with her. She'll get more buzz with the announcement of the VP pick, and then the convention will follow. The final night in Chicago will almost certainly feature two successful past presidents along with Joe and Jill on the stage with Harris, her husband and the new VP pick and his (yes, it will be a man) wife. I'm going out on a limb here by predicting that scene will be even more memorable and impactful than Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan on stage at the RNC. LOL.

He sat down at a bar for a college football Saturday to drink Coors Light. Democract’s can try and make him the weirdo all you want.

You guys are the weirdos.

Dem server. Told him his card is declined

@Noodle should be back just in time for your morning commute
This Democrat ploy to cast Vance as “Weird” is one of the more irksome things I’ve seen in American politics.

“Hey Walz, who did Indiana play yesterday? Did they win? Who the play?”

That’s something a common man could answer. This paper mache football coach could not. I’m not sure Vance could answer it either but at least he’s not playing a character like Walz.

He is weird. So is walz. I prefer Vance to walz but it’s a low bar

Vance grows on you. Read the book. If all of America read the book the country would be infinitely better.

Walz could not write a book about anything other than nonsense.
I have. Vance is an incredibly bright guy. Walz is a goofy impressionable social worker teacher from Chadon st. Vance is still strange

Im voting Trump because I believe Trump is kind of cashed out. I think he also knows he’s cashed out.

Let Vance run the government. Without the PR. Maybe I’m being hopeful.
Vance is by far the best of the three. I too think trump is cashed out. It’s a lot. He’s been through a lot. He’s old.

Fair enough. I could understand when Roe was still on the table, but that's been settled (in your favor). I have a hard time understanding how a devout Christian could support him now.
I have a hard undertandong how a devout christian could support either......TBH.

Being a christian doesnt mean life is empty of sin. People who believe this are ignorant.

Lots of faux christians, seasonal believers and chreasters on this board. Please remember there’s only one person on this board who provides spiritual guidance to a community. And when you speculate as to how as you did in your post, remember how they treat him on this board - a man of the cloth who appreciates the simple things, candy corn, and devotes his life to the service of others

I jsut think using faith as a proponent to voting, is showing extreme ignorance. I also feel using as a propeller to get elected, is wrong.

I dont care if Kamala is a christian....nor do I care if Trump is. It has no bearing on how I vote. People who think this way, often make the wrong decision.

He’s very foolish though for continuing to perpetuate the false claims about Haitians and now Africans, as it relates to eating pets. The mayor of Springfield, the mayor of Dayton (new falsehoods about Africans eating pets), the police forces in the two cities, and governor DeWine, all say there is no evidence. On the Sunday morning programs today he’s still claiming it to be true. This can only serve to foster the stereotype that the right is filled with people that believe in false information and conspiracies. And I’m sure the Harris campaign will have ads asking Americans if we really want our leaders giving out misinformation that seems, well, crazy and a bit WEIRD! What’s wrong with you people?

Whether they’re eating pets or not is immaterial. They probably are. Maybe they aren’t. Inconclusive.

What is material is dropping 10’s of thousands of 3rd world refugees in the Midwest and destroying Americans lives.

Stop apologizing for it you sick ****.

Have you ever been to Springfield?

And for what it's worth, Haitian immigrants in Springfield are there legally and weren't dropped there. They came for jobs. And yes, there are growing pains and there have been issues flare up, but for the most part the influx of population has helped reignite a dying town. Springfield has been steadily losing population since the 1980s when the Navistar plant started sending tons of jobs overseas. I'll always have an affinity for the place since I was born and raised there, but it was far from the 'beautiful place' Trump has suggested it was prior to the Haitian community moving there.

There are definitely frustrations in the city with such a huge amount of growth coming from a different country/culture, but in the long run I think Springfield will be just fine. And anecdotally speaking, I don't know anyone in Springfield whose life has been ruined because Haitians moved there. I do know people who have been shot, gone to jail, got messed up on drugs, and started collecting welfare, but that all happened long before any of those people knew anyone from Haiti.
