Why are we doing all short kicks?

I am at the game, but just curious if the TV guys are saying while we kick everything shorts this entire game

That was IU's best kick off strategy all year. I believe all but one wasn't returned past the 27. If asking this question, you might have missed Iowa and Penn St games.
