First it was Flynn and his secret work as a Turkish agent, and the whole plot to kidnap and extradite the exiled Turkish cleric living in the US..Coincidentally (to the rest of the story) that Turkish cleric was living and speaking out vs Erdogan from Pennsylvania....

Now reporting uncovers that besides just voting in the Turkish Presidential election in 2018, OZ is sheltering a group of Turkish Nationalists at a condo he owns in (not PA) but (you guessed it) Jersey... In fact, the condo is just a 7 minute Drive from one of his many mansions. In this case his palatial home overlooking the Hudson where he cluelessly inexplicably filmed a few of his PA Senate candidacy ads and spots...

Now he didn't report owning this particular unit, which is not necessarily illegal, since the issue of rent isn't cut and dried. . But then that begs the larger question of why is he secretly providing housing to a pair of his friends who are described as Ultra -Nationalist Turks, who are involved with the effort to keep the US from recognizing the Armenian Genocide. In fact OZ himself has never been able to bring himself to characterize what happened to the Armenians as "genocide"...

The fact that he voted in Turkey's 2018 was uncovered during the Primaries and caused him a great deal of grief. These new disclosures might prove even more damning, because it appears he wanted to keep the issue a secret. He's already a laughing stock in PA over his Jersey residence, and I'm sensing that Fetterman will provide us with some major entertainment, related to these latest disclosures.

I'm particularly interested in this topic, because I spent 3 months in Turkey back in 79-80 when the country was under Martial law. People like OZ's friends were one of the groups (both right and left) who were so belligerent towards each other that it resulted in the Military staging a coup and interceding to stop them from continuing to kill each other. It's strange to be required to be off the streets at dark, and to realize that the machine gun carrying peasant soldier might shoot you if you make the mistake of not getting off the streets quickly enough...
Or for that matter, looking at him the wrong way...

I am pretty damned conservative about most issues... just to clarify. But I don't understand the fascination with "celebrity" politicians that has infiltrated the Republican party. And Oz is barely a celebrity... and based on what I've seen, barely a doctor. And possibly barely a human being.

If he would switch parties he would all of a sudden be a great guy. Cosmic would write a 6 paragraph post with 10 links to prove it. :)

Good question. I am still trying to figure out why libs love(d) Castro. Let me know if you ever find out the answer to either of those questions.

Celebrity pols offer a break from traditional politicians of the past such as the Bushes and Clintons who in the minds of true conservatives are liberal chips off the same block.

As Trump might say, "I've contributed to politicians from both parties, and they actually think the same way". In other words, I am different and better.

Does he carry dual nationality Turkish-United States status?

How many in Congress carry dual nationality Israeli-United States status?

Oz's friends of 42 years ago?....you know about them how? Today's 'Nationalist friends'? ....would these 'friends' be political
opponents of Erdogan's Muslim Brotherhood form of democratic rule?...

'One man, one vote, one time...then activate the black-shirt National Police and street mobs to quell dissent...

You'd like that power, wouldn't you?

How old are you? No one loved Castro.

It was Che Guevara that your older relatives told you the cool kids loved.

Probably because they would rather vote for him over fetterman who had a stroke and can barely speak. He is in very bad health should not be running at all. Just because they are voting for oz does not mean they are in love with him. What attracted you to basement Joe? I I mean if oz was a dem you would love him and you know you would.

Why didn't you just read the linked article, instead of creating your own fantasy in which it apparently says the opposite of what it actually says.

Does he carry dual nationality Turkish-United States status?
Yes he voted in the 2018 Turkish elections, and not the US primaries in either NJ or PA. I believe it was an issue during the GOP Primary, and one of the promises he made was that if elected he would renounce his Turkish citizenship...

Oz's friends of 42 years ago?....you know about them how? Today's 'Nationalist friends'? ....would these 'friends' be political opponents of Erdogan's Muslim Brotherhood form of democratic rule?...

No actually they are the OPPOSITE of your supposition. They are ultra-Nationalist pro-Erdogan supporters, and it seems that a major political issue they are invested in is the attempt to downplay the Armenian genocide, and combat efforts for the Armenian cause to be promoted thru out Western countries.

Sort of the Turkish equivalent of Holocaust denial, an ideology that you're more than casually acquainted with...

In other words, Oz's friends are the equivalent of the Muslim Brotherhood you snidely refer to as "Erdogan's democratic rule"...

So how does THAT shape you world view, knowing that Oz is a huge Erdogan supporter? Hence the thread title I chose...

Btw, do you reserve the same degree of acrimony for Brandon Straka' as for Ray Epps? I noticed that all the paranoid attacks on Epps sort of diminished after I posted the video of him walking up and down among the troops clearly trying to play peacemaker and calm them down...

You just continue to embarrass yourself with nonsense. Fetterman had an episode of atrial fibrillation where the heart slips out of rhythm. It caused a temporary shut off to the brain which resulted in the "stroke", but it was not due to any kind of brain or heart structural issue...

For perspective my mother was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in 2020. After having the ablation and with medication she is as fine as any 91 yr old who lives alone and cares for herself on a daily basis can be. She goes to Church twice a week, cleans her home and does laundry weekly and still finds plenty of time to watch Fox News.

I had a quad bypass in 1994, and collateral damage to my heart muscle due to my hear attack. John Fetterman's heart is fine, mine not so much. He has an ICD implanted to basically prevent any kind of electrical disturbance which could cause an irregular heartbeat and stop his heart. I have the exact same device, but I have very weak heart muscle where Fetterman does not. I was 59 when I had mine implanted and am now 67, but I had coronary issues...

So I've managed to survive heart disease which I basically inherited and heart failure (which resulted indirectly from the heart disease) for far longer than a six year Senate term. Fetterman's stroke was not caused by any underlying disease, and the ICD that is implanted is precautionary. The odds of Fetterman dying during his first Senate term are pretty low, and he is in no way in "very bad health". He's a big man and probably overweight for 52, but have you checked out Trump's flab lately?

So I have a question for a political genius like you...

Yesterday the NRSC (National Republican Senate Committee) announced it was withdrawing funds in three Senate races that were designated for adds to run later this fall. Basically they can't afford to throw away funds on hopeless causes (PA and AZ) when they need the funds in other possibly winnable races (OH and NC ) come to mind...

So I know why they chose PA and AZ, but why was WI the 3rd race on the list of pulled ads? I know Johnson is vulnerable and seems to be slightly trailing. But why do you think they'd lump WI in with bottomless money drains like PA and AZ? Any ideas?

You better belive they would love OZ just like they love Liz cause she bashes Trump.

I respect Liz for having balls when 99% of the GOP are spineless cowards that care more about re-election than anything else. Although Liz wouldn't make it as a dem because she is still 100% lock step on policy with the rest of the GOP.

Can you tell me when Fetterman’s next public appearance will be? I looked under “events” on his website…I didn’t see any listed.

You better belive they would love OZ just like they love Liz cause she bashes Trump.
Although this video only shows McCaskill grilling OZ, Dean Heller who was the GOP senator from Nevada at that point in time, was all over him as well. As you can see, criticism of Oz predates his involvement in politics, and was largely bi-partisan...

Why would anyone have admired a third world country's healthcare?

Yes, they liked the part where the elites were treated well, because they were elites. Healthcare is terrible there.

But here are more dems in love with Castro..

I don't live in PA (I'm in IN), so I don't follow that race that closely. I had no idea that he was holding a rally last Fri, until I saw the various news accounts of it. I had already watched the video and I've read up on fellow ICD recipient Fetterman's actual medical situation. So when bailey posted his nonsense inferring that he was bedridden and on his death bed I already knew how ridiculous an assertion that it was. So I posted to dispel his nonsense...

Fetterman is actually (unlike Oz) a current statewide elected office holder, so I have no idea how his responsibility as Lt Governor in a lame duck administration would impact his campaigning for a future office. I assume Wolfe is barred from running for re-election. Oz has found time to pretend to skeet shoot and "shop" for crudite, so it appears he is enjoying his visit to PA. Strange how he managed to "shop" at a store that doesn't actually exist...

And did Ron Johnson really just claim that giving seniors the right to negotiate for lower Medicare prices is "punishing the pharmaceutical industry"?

Maybe foot in his mouth blunders like that are why the GOP Senate campaign is linking him to hopeless candidates like Oz and Masters and pulling his ad funding also?

But here are more dems in love with Castro..

Cuba is not a binary system- most revolutions aren't...The "elites" under the Bautista dictatorship (supported by US organized crime and rich landowners) who ran things prior to Castro's revolution have basically been supplanted by the peasants who supported Castro and joined his guerilla armies and in turn became the new "elites" after Bautista and his supporters fled (many to the US)....

The reality is that no matter how "disastrous" the new healthcare instituted by Castro was, it was far superior to the non-existent healthcare (or education) for the average Cuban peasant that existed under Bautista. No matter how much people attempt to revise history, the reality is that Castro came to power because people believed he offered an alternative to the corrupt, anti-Democratic military dictatorship of Bautista.

Here's the thing about Revolutions- they don't usually occur in countries where things are good and the Govt is supported by the people. There are always haves and have nots, and the revolution is basically the have nots rising up. That was true in Tsarist Russia in 1917, in Militaristic China in the 30-40s, and in 1950s Cuba.

In each case (and others, like Vietnam for example) you could argue that new excesses ended up replacing the excesses which led to the original Revolution in the first place. That's just an unfortunate feature of human nature, where people start out with lofty altruistic goals and just can't live up to them.

But the regimes which each of those particular revolutions overthrew were neither popular nor benevolent. And they were propped up by a large but rotting from corruption within military, that ultimately proved their downfall. Think back to the way Juarez's Mexican peasant army was able to defeat Emperor Max's troops and gain Independence for Mexico and you see the blueprint Che followed in defeating Bautista's inept Generals...

So if I understand you correctly, you are comparing a healthcare system under Bautista, from 1959 to a healthcare system under Castro in 2008 and even beyond under Raul.

Apples and oranges. Not defending Bautista but Castro had 50 years to improve it and really didn't.

And you're correct in that Castrocare (my coined phrase) was not binary. It's trinary.

Are you aware that every E Street show you’ve been to since 1994 has strengthened your heart? You’re fine, brother. 😎
