Purdue guards are 82-20 in their three years (80%) playing probably a top three schedule in those years, Purdue had some pretty big years with Ivey and Edwards. You wonder how much better Purdue would have been with their 7'-4" starter Jacobsen had not broke his leg? 40 or 50 backcourts, really? It was one game Chester, do not try to over spin!But...he's not "top 10" level good. He's a liability defensively, and despite being 6-4 ish and fairly long, he isn't a factor on the boards. There are probably 40-50 backcourt/wing lineups in the country that are suited to expose both Smith and Loyer. If IU can do it, there are A LOT of others out there that will too.
That's been my biggest "slam" on the Purdue fans having their heads in the clouds of late. They don't even realize, maybe not even now, that the only reason they were up there in the first place was an anomalous monster from Canada, that was allowed to regularly do what the officials rightly fouled TKR out for doing yesterday.
IU still has only won 3 out of their last 11, and still on the outside of the BUBBLE! But they look like they will qualify for the BT Tournament, WOW!
