What's Woody's buyout?

Small ample size during mop up time. Coming off of an injury while trying to learn the NBA. All while still very young. Silly to think that represents what he might be in the NBA.
And he shot pretty well at IU as a freshman.
He averaged 12.6 ppg at 42% so if you consider that stellar shooting then…fine.

I’d prefer not being ranked 52nd of 52 rookies but thats just me.

Galloway has never been a good shooter. Last year’s % was an outlier. Go back and looks at his high school career numbers.
I wasn't saying he was, but pointed out the low volume open looks he took a year ago he hit with a good %. He has those same open looks this year, but isn't even attempting the shot.

See my answer above.
I hope he does improve but he has a long way to go and could find himself in the G league at some point. Personally I was not happy with the performance of the team last year and didn’t see that his year of playing did anything to help build the program toward national contention. I agree he would have helped this year but he was always clear just one season and so now we have what we have.

He came, he had a few decent games and one very good game, and he was gone. Forgive me for being underwhelmed.

I think Woody can get us a Final 16 banner. That’s really the ceiling for IU basketball the past 20 years. Really no reason to continue recycling mediocre coaches. Just keep Woody the next decade and continue a path of 16-22 win seasons and the occasional exciting run past the second round.
I think 2nd round is his ceiling in the tourney. Last year is probably about as good as it will get.

Six year 18million this is year 3.

Woodson would have to pay a buyout of $3 million if he was to resign his job before March 31, 2024. After that date, Woodson’s buyout is $500,000. If Woodson is fired without cause before April 1, 2025, the school would have to pay him 100% of his remaining base salary until the end of the deal. If Woodson is fired after April 1, 2025, that payout is decreased to 50% of the remaining deal.

Also if Dusty May comes it cost..

If May takes another job before Feb. 29, 2024 he will owe the university $1.5 million. That number decreases to $1 million, $750,000 and $500,000 over the next three years.

Also This year Florida Atlantic has hit 80 three's to Indiana's 31

2022 FIU 332 IU 187
2021 FIU 291 IU 158

It’s not great for the team to get annihilated every time they play a good team.
It is embarrassing

I prefer Woodson step down after this year or next year and pass the. They will not want to fire an iu guy which means things would get really ugly before he is ever fired.

It will get ugly. Woody's ego, Quinn Bucker, and lefty IU being afraid of the woke mob guarantees it.

I’m beginning to wonder if the team doesn’t 100% buy in to our style of play. You almost get the sense when we run into an aggressive, uptempo team that can shoot 3’s we wilt quickly. Our pound it inside offense gives us very little chance to recover from a deficit against a good opponent. Hence getting run out of the gym against teams like UConn, Arizona, Kansas and Auburn.

On top of that, the sub patterns have to drive the starters nuts. They work hard to build a lead, get taken out, and then the momentum is gone when they come back.

And given nba hires almost never seem to work the chances of that are probably high. Michigan will have the same issue with Howard

Finally Indiana spent some money for football time to do the same for basketball I want Indiana to have the best of the best to hear Kansas has better stuff then IU is embarrassing its been like 20 years since we built the Cook Center time to upgrade coaches facilities to top of the line.

No agenda…just win!!! This won’t be a growing experience, this isn’t the old days where your guys stay 4 years. This will be another flipped roster next year. Woody’s stubbornness to not recruit shooter’s and basketball players is killing him. We are what we are this year. Zero guard play and a decent front court
lol

didn't say that... I said it will be a good learning experience which it will as was the UConn game...
So what was learned? That we can win some hard fought games vs crap teams and get our asses kicked by good teams ? We gave up 104 pts to a team that just lost to Appalachian St. App St held them to 64. Curious what lessons were learned in the UConn game?

honestly, with the name he chose for his handle on this board, I'm not taking anything he says too seriously.
i think he self deleted a post that was so stupid even he realized it needed to be scrubbed. The implication was that no longer possible to have returning basketball players because this is the modern basketball period. He must think all players in modern basketball go to the NBA after one season of NCAA basketball.

KC football has turned into a Tiger Beat magazine. While their season goes down the drain and Mahomes is getting older, slower, and cranky. I only say this because he's my #1 QB on one of my FF league teams, and has sucked arse pretty much all season.
It was a horrible weekend for me-first IU collapses against Auburn and then the Texans collapse against the effin Jets.

A long term fan of a team might reasonably expect a championship say every 20 years or so. I am at 36 years for IU (fan since I could walk) and 21 years since Texans entered the NFL. It's just not fair. I always tell my daughters that life isn’t fair so don’t expect it to be but jeez, it should fairer than this for IU at least.

Not putting too much on them losing to App St, who I think is a pretty good team, and somehow got Auburn to travel to Boone. Probably didn't want to play that game, played flat and uninspired and then were punished/challenged by Pearl all week to play better and they did. Pearl is a good coach and has learned something about coaching and motivating guys along the way, and that was on full display, imo, Saturday. That lack of experience in college coaching is probably Woody's biggest hurdle and what might be his undoing if he can't figure it out.

Auburn played fantastic from start to finish, highlighting many weaknesses along the way. There's a lot wrong with this roster and team, and I agree with Cav, it's all a moot point as far as making the tourney this year, if X can't play and isn't healthy. My feeling is without him, we're playing to develop guys like CJ, Cupps, Banks, and maybe Mgbacko if he stays.
