30 pt swing and zero effort. IU almost looks scared. Pearl clearly knows how to coach and made great adjustments. Pathetic IU showing. This is a decent Auburn team not great too

Obviously Pearl just forgot how to do all that against Appalachian State.
Pearl is a crybaby jackass. But he’s got his dudes playing like their ass is on fire. Woody is just watching the game as his players wilt. Freaking Gunn must be happy with the last game, cause he totally sucks today.
Something like that…and/or he’ll call out some of the guys for their effort. It’s what an NBA coach would do.
College kids need taught. He hasn’t figured out how to teach consistent effort yet.

Bob Knight could have coached IU another 29 years and we still wouldn't have heard him make that kind of coaching statement.
It wasn’t effort. It was his substitution strategy. He does the same thing.
I was worried they might overlook Auburn and Kansas in preparation for the Morehead State, North Alabama, and Kennesaw State stretch.
The subs killed the early momentum. Which then led to sapped energy and effort. The last 20 points or so if Auburns run were nearly all a result of horrible IU effort, though. No 50/50 balls, weak turnovers, horrible rotations, not moving their feet and fouling as a result…horrible effort. But the hockey subbing completely changed the game flow.
It's simple..You gotta tell your starters ..

And try to have no more than 2 non starters in game at one time. Sparks in game with 2 other non starters is going to be bad news against good teams.
Either that or make ‘em run until after dinner is no longer being served.
And he will definitely say “I got to help these guys get better on offense man “ he’s a great man and a good recruiter. Just npot a good coach of the X and O
Ok Woodson is a defensive guy but we're going to give up 100 today? I hope he retires so Dusty May can come and show how to run a a modern offense.
His excuse is that Pearl is a much better coach and that his own team is soft.
Woody can coach situationally. He just hasn’t figured out how to get his IU teams to play at a high level consistently.
He’s also made the choice to focus his teams on big guys. And that just isn’t an approach that leads to much success in today’s game.
He’s not retiring anytime soon. When he does Dusty will be killing it somewhere else.

This is the type of comment that brings me back to those halcyon days of the Crean tenure.

He’s never been known to be an energetically animated “rah-rah” kind of guy always good for a quip. It’s probably why the cameras don’t give him much sideline time. Blank looks are very telling when they’re not telling. It imagines “leave me alone, for I have no clue what to do”.
Your probably right Stevens now May always bad timing.
I wish someone like Wittman or other IU guys be like hey Mike we need to get some shooters in here this type of basketball is not going to work in college basketball.
Not always…Bob was good timing. IU’s hiring of Myles Brand was bad timing.
That is a one in a million hire. We tried a flash in the pan with Miller and Crean we need a proven winner that takes Indiana to a elite level.
So you’re adding Woodson to that pan? Are you thinking tomorrow’s meal already? Tomorrows never come the day, as the day’s tomorrow remains forevermore, unlike yesterday, the day two days before tomorrow, if not day’s day just prior.

NBA guys usually do not make it is college. Look at howard and penny great recruiters at the beginning but results are no that great.
Yes Woodson was a last ditch effort it was supposed to be Matta after Stevens said no.
Matta wouldn’t have mattered. Steven’s said “no” before the question was even asked. It was stamped on his forehead in indelible ink for those who thought to look there.
