Weight Program

Much ado about nothing in my eyes...

Speed wins in the secondary and if his weight loss allows Carpenter to do whatever it takes to allow him to operate in the Offense Bell wants to run; which clearly isn't going to rely on a lot of Iso, straight the gut runs with him leading..., then I'm all for it.

It appears he'll be getting a lot of help against the stronger Nose Guards (which he would have Anyway) and will be expected to be able to pull to initiate his combo-blocks...; is what I read into it..., or..., who knows..., he might might have just had the flu the week before weigh-in...

I don't see anything on there that terribly concerns me... Might all be a very Good thing (the weight changes)...

I'll trust Coach Allen on this one...

I'm much more concerned about getting our Basic blocking and, in particular, Tackling back to where it should be...
So right the game initiates with attitude and heart at the LOS. From there blocking and tackling make the plays.

That makes sense.

My goodness, Bell apparently is the core cause of all failings with IU football.
We will see this year if Bell is a good OC or not with a very good OL so no explaining about why he isn't this year. I hope he runs the same offense he ran with Williams.

I think I will reserve judgement on the level of OL improvement until I see a bit more.
I can tell you with Bostad the OL will be improved and I want to see how good they are against OSU. Once Bostad is here the OL will improve every year with recruits and techniques. He has already changed practice with OL being physical. I understand why you want to wait but look at other post to see what Bostad has changed the practices.

Oh right, I know what he has done so far and fully expect the OL to improve which will help recruiting the QB room.
Just pumping the brakes on how quickly the level go up, that's all.

So many differences in what we run versus what he’s been a part of, so a few spring practices aren't really enough to know how we’ll perform. We also have talent issues that must be addressed via recruiting, and that obviously factors in, as well.

I'd bet money right now that, if we have a marked improvement in our OL this year, Bostad will be gone.

Yes, recent history does say that, but we need very good coaches to stay and turn IU into one of the better teams in the B1G, so I hope Bostad, Wright, Johnson, and any other good coaches stay. We will see this year if Bell and the others are good coaches.
April 15 should be interesting. Hope the weather is good.

Assuming poaching. Which would be par for the course. Money talks, along with production. I’ll give it two years. The good ones go fast, a viscous cycle.

I hope not and he stays for years helping IU move into the upper part of the B1G. I hope our AD does what it takes to hang on to the best assistant coaches on the staff.

The staff turnover hasn’t been due to a lack of financial support from either Scott Dolson or Fred Glass (and that wasn’t the issue that led him to FG’s less than voluntary retirement). SD has had a competitive checkbook, as did FG.

Most here do, (assuming performance), but we have all seen the revolving door here.
